HUTB Holds 23rd Track Meet

OnOctober 6 and 7, the 23rdtrack meet was held inthe track-and-fieldground in the main campus.Secretary Tang Yayang, Vice President Liu Guoquan, teachersand students tookpart in and watched athletic contests.

 


With the magnificentNationalAnthem, members of the national flag group walked at tidy pace and raisedthe national flag. Teacher and student contestants entered the ground one by one for warm-up exercises. Colorfulflagson the stands waving, like asea of color. Soundsof cheering andpercussion rose one after another,passingeager anticipations of teachers and studentaudiences.

 


The funsports meeting for teaching faculty and staff themed with “struggle, happiness and joy” symbolized the beginning of the meet. Therewere three group events: frugalityevent, relaywithoutfear of difficulty, and dauntlessrushto “three upgrade”, withfour sets of instruments for eachevent. In the events, the teamsworked together and made concerted efforts, with endless laughter and cheersfrom audiences. After fierceand interesting competitions, North Campus Management Committee, Research Institute of Big Data and Internet Innovation, and Third Trade Union Branch of Administrative Department Party Committeewereranked in thetop three places in termof total team scores.

 



During the two-day contests, over 400 student athletes from 15 representativeteams competedin 110-meter hurdle, 100-meter and 200-meter races, 4x100-meterand 4x400-meter relay races, triplejump, discus, shot events, etc., with ceaseless cheers, shoutsand applausesfrom audiences. In the women’s 100-meter race, Zhang Dan and Li Yucheng fromSchool of Continuing Education broke the original record by virtue of13”54and 13”74secondsrespectively; inthe women’s 200-meter race, Li Yucheng, again, broke the original record with 28”76 seconds.

 



After fierce competitions, School of Continuing Education, Beijin College, School of Finance, School of Computer Science and Information Engineering, School of Law and Public Administration, and School ofEconomy and Trade were in the top six places of the total team scores.School ofBusiness Administration, School of Tourism Management and School of Finance were granted “the best organizer award”. Zhang Dan from School of Continuing Education and other 5 students were granted “the best sportsman award”. Liu Yao from School ofForeign Languages and other 5 students weregranted “the best referee award”. Long Hui from Security Division and other 2 staff members were granted “the best service award”. Beijin College and other 5 schools were granted “the best cheerleading performance award”.
