HUTB Committee of China Democratic League Holds New Member Oath-taking Ceremony and Seminar

On 25 Sept, 2020, HUTB Committee of China Democratic League held the new member oath-taking ceremony and seminar on learning General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech on the Teacher’s Day in MeetingRoom 401of No.2 Office Building. The event was attended by Prof. Liu Siwei, a member of Hunan Literature and History Research Hall, a first-tier honorary professor and doctoral supervisor of Hunan University of Technologyand Business (HUTB)and the honorary chairman of HUTB Committee of China Democratic League, Nie Guoqing, a committee member of China Democratic League, Liu Daobo, the Chairman of HUTB Committee of China Democratic League, and members of HUTB Committee.
During the seminar, the existingand new members took the oath under the league emblem: “I will upload the leadership of the Communist Party of China, insist on patriotism and socialism, observe the Constitution of China Democratic League, execute resolutions adopted by China Democratic League, perform obligations as member of China Democratic League, do my duties well, and work hard to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation!”
Chairman Liu, centering on “remaining true to the original aspiration of moral cultivation”, organized all the members to learn General Secretary Xi’s important speech and learn the meritorious deeds of Zhang Guimei, Secretary and President of Lijiang Huaping Advanced High School for Girls; everyone was deeply touched by Zhang’s strong sense of mission and her selfless dedication to the educational undertaking in mountain areas. Prof. Liu, from the five “senses of responsibility, of humbleness, of gratitude, of tolerance and of thinking in terms of the big picture” teachers should have and by combining his teaching experience for over five decades, gave the members a vivid class, and entrusted them with the original aspiration of imparting knowledge and cultivating people morally. After listening to Prof. Liu’s words, the members actively shared their learning experience, and unanimously agreed with the opinion that the teaching faculty in institutions of higher education in the new era should remain true to their original teaching intentions, cultivate students by applying new educational and teaching methods, and strength self-study rather than cultivating the current students and responding to future possible changes with previous knowledge.
Lastly, Mr. Nie stated that the government would attach greater importance to science and technology and education under the leadership of General Secretary Xi Jinping, and that a democratic party should upload the leadership of CPC, and have faith, sentiment and pursuit as usual, and make contributions to China’s development and the Chinese nation’s rejuvenation.
