Party Secretary Tang Yayang Visits Freshmen Enrolled in 2020 during Military Training

Resonating voice rang through the military training fields, and freshmen showed boosting morale. On the morning of 25 Sept, 2020, Party SecretaryTang Yayang, accompanied by heads of the Party Committee Office and Principal Office, Student Affairs Division, Defense Education Department, North Campus Administrative Committee, etc., visited freshmen enrolled in 2020, military training instructors, and faculty and staff of schools at the military training fields both in South Campus and North Campus, learned aboutthe military training situations, checked how training went, and gave some instructions.
Wherever he arrived, Mr. Tang could see freshmen marching orderly with amazing poses and shouting slogans loudly, and demonstrated their training results in satisfactory postures. He encouraged them, pointing out that military training was the first compulsory lesson in university, and they performed well and showed good thinking, strong will, assertive discipline and enterprising spirit under tight military training workload in a tight schedule. He also encouraged all the military training instructors and freshmen to continue carrying forward the spirit of “continuous fighting”, “bearing hardship first and daring to challenge”, and “treasuring your tears more than blood and sweat, and never lagging behind even suffering physical pains”, and accomplish the military training task satisfactorily.
It is learnedthat the military training for freshmen lasts for eleven days and covers five modules of education and training of common regulations of the armed forces, shooting and tactical simulation training, self-defense skills and protection training during wartime, combat readiness basis and application training, and entrance education. To ensure that military training for freshmen could proceed safely, HUBT has, in strict accordance with the work requirements from higher authorities, made a work plan, held a mobilization meeting, grasped training management well and conducted comprehensive assessment, intending to make the military training work effective during the special period of COVID-19 prevention and control. Through military training, it is expected to further strengthen students’ national defense awareness and patriotism, reinforce their sense of organizational discipline and form good life habits,and enhance their collectivism and hard-working quality. Since the commencement of the military training, 4,800 freshmen, fearing neither hardship nor fatigue, have strictly observed military training disciplines and completed military training projects, adequately manifesting the firm willpower of HUTB’s students in the new era.
