Chongqing Technology and Business University Delegation Led by President Sun Fangcheng Visited HUTB for Investigation and Exchanges

On August 25, a 5-member delegation led by Sun Fangcheng, President of Chongqing Technology and Business University (CTBU), and Bai Qun, Vice President of CTBU, visited HUTB for investigation and exchanges.Chen Xiaohong, HUTB President and CAE Academician, and Liu Guoquan, Vice President of HUTB, were present at relevant activities. The leaders of the Party CommitteeOffice and Principal Office, the Research Institute of Big Data and Internet Innovation, the School of Business Administration, the Library, the Entrepreneurship Education and Practice Teaching Center, and other departments participated in the exchanges.
At the exchange meeting, President & Academician Chen Xiaohong warmly welcomed President Sun Fangcheng and his delegation and praised the rapid development CTBU had made in recent years. She introduced HUTB’s strategic goal of “Three Improvements” and the relevant achievements already made. She explained HUTB’s educational philosophies of “new engineering courses + new business courses” and “equal emphasis on ‘engineering’ and ‘business’”, as well as HUTB’s educational orientation of “being an innovative, entrepreneurial, and application-oriented university”. She mainly talked about HUTB’s efforts in prioritizing disciplinary construction to promote the reform of the management mechanism and to cultivate inter-disciplinary talents for the society. She hoped that the two universities can grasp the opportunities in the new era and further strengthen exchanges and interactions to promote common progress.
President Sun Fangcheng expressed his thanks to HUTB for the warm reception. He noted that in recent years, HUTB has gone through rapid development, made outstanding achievements, and enjoyed continuously increasingsocial reputation. He added that as the two universities are both oriented towards technology and business, they have many similarities in disciplinary construction and talent training. He hoped that HUTB’s successful experience can drive CTBU to achieve new leaping development. He looked forward to the further strengthened exchanges between the two universities and invited President Chen Xiaohong to lead a visiting delegation to CTBU at her convenience.
The attendees deeply exchanged views on university development planning, disciplinary construction and other issues. After the meeting, President Sun Fangcheng and his delegation also visited HUTB’s laboratory in the Technology Building, Chufeng Academy in Economic Management Complex, the Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Creation Park, and other educational places.
