HUTB and Authority of Yuelu District Jointly Hold Anti-Drug Publicity Activities

On June 19, a few days before the 33rd International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Hunan University of Technology and Business and the Authority of Yuelu District jointly held the anti-drug publicity activities themed at “Healthy, Green and Drug-Free Life”. President & Academician Chen Xiaohong was present and employed as Anti-Drug Publicity Ambassador of Yuelu District.
Zhou Zhikai, Secretary of the Party Committee of Yuelu District, delivered a speech. He expressed that drugs are a public hazard to all mankind, and that drug control is the responsibility of the whole society. Thanks to the strong support of the universities in the jurisdiction, Yuelu District authority conducted heavy and special anti-drug activitiesas well as wide anti-drug publicity on campus, thus making the“drug-free campus” a safe and happy paradise for students’ healthy growth. Mr. Zhou hoped that students can clearly understand the dangers of drugs, consciously resist the temptation of drugs, and demonstrate their passionate and vigorous mental outlook by living a healthy, green, and drug-free life.
What followed then was the ceremony of appointment of Yuelu District Anti-Drug Public Publicity Ambassador. In the ceremony, President & Academician Chen Xiaohong accepted the letter of appointment from Zhou Zhikai, Secretary of the Party Committee of Yuelu District. She expressed her blessings and expectations to massive graduates.She said, “In another two days, the graduates will leave their alma mater for new learning environments and work positions and will start a new chapter in their life.” As a scholar, teacher, senior and mother, she hoped that the graduates can keep positive and powerful, actively participate in and support anti-drug publicity, preventive education and prevention; she urged the graduates to keep fighting against drug crimes, to stay away from drugs, and to say no to drugs; she hoped that the graduates can move solidly in their life and work and be a person with positive energy and contribution to the motherland, the society and families.
During these activities, an anti-drug publicity video personally commented by Academician Chen Xiaohong was played, the anti-drug oath was taken by all the attendees, a short anti-drug play, Say No to the Past, was performed, an anti-drug song, Life, was sung, and the real drugs such as heroin, smoking methamphetamine, and methamphetamine tablet were displayed. The students present all expressed that through various forms of thematic publicity, they had a clearer understanding of the dangers of drugs and became more determined to resist the temptation of drugs.
