Vice President Liu Guoquan Visits Changsha Industrial Park of Sany Group for Investigation

On June 17, Vice President Liu Guoquan, followed by the leaders of the Academic Affairs Division, the Entrepreneurship Education and Practice Teaching Center, the School of Economics &Trade and other departments, visited the Changsha Industrial Park of Sany Group for investigation, in a bid to further strengthen and fully promote the university-enterprise cooperation on talent cultivation.
Vice President Liu Guoquan and his delegation first visited the Sany Exhibition Hall and the lighthouse factory in which Sany spent over RMB one billion. Yuan Chunyan, a HUTB alumnus and Deputy General Manager of Sany Heavy Industry, briefed in detail HUTB delegationonSany’s vision to “create a first-class enterprise, cultivate first-class talents, and make first-class contributions” and Sany’s mission of “quality changes the world”. She elaborated Sany Group’s development history from a startup to a world-leading equipment manufacturer, as well as the important contributions Sany Group made to the world in the emergency rescues of the Chilean mine disaster in 2010 and the leakage of the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan.
At the symposium, Yuan Chunyan explained to Liu Guoquan and his delegation the information on alumni working in Sany Group. 103 HUTB alumni working hard in their respective positions have positively contributed to the development of Sany Group. She pointed out that in 2019, Sany Group became the first enterprise whose operation revenue reached RMB100 billion in the construction machinery industry. Despite the impact of COVID-19, Sany Group did not stop but sped up its production to actively support the construction of the “Huoshengshan and Leishenshan” hospitals in Wuhan, making due contribution to the national epidemic prevention and control work. In the first half of 2020, Sany Group rose against the trend and achieved good growth in sales and profits. Yuan Chunyan noted that, as a HUTB alumna, she will live up to the expectations of her alma mater and contribute to Sany Group’s development and growth.
Vice President Liu Guoquan expressed his heartfelt thanks to Deputy General Manager Yuan Chunyan and other alumni for their warm reception. He pointed out that in recent years, HUTB has won many national honorary awards in talent training, university-enterprise cooperation, innovation and entrepreneurship. HUTB has smoothly risen to be a first-tier university and changed its own name, and HUTB’s construction and application of doctoral programs have also come to a critical stage. With these achievements, HUTB has stepped to a new level in terms of the diversity and quality of talent cultivation. In the next step, HUTB will carry out innovative cooperation with Sany Group on talent cultivation, internship and employment, industry-education integration; HUTB will solidly implement relevant projects and build innovative, entrepreneurial and application-oriented talent training models jointly with Sany Group, in an effort to supply high-quality talents for Sany Group and more companies.
