"Learning Society” Held “Cloud” Online Meeting for Experience Sharing and Exchange

On May 22, HUTB Students’ Learning Society of Xi Jinping's New Era SocialismThoughtwith Chinese characteristics “inherits the May 4th Spirit, the Youth Flower Blooms during fighting against the epidemic” online special topic sharing and exchange meeting held. Tang Yayang, secretary of the Party Committee of HUTB, attended the meeting. The leaders of the Party Committee Propaganda Department, theSchool ofMarxism,the Youth League Committee and members of theLearning Society attended. The meeting was presided over by Xiong Xian, a classmate of the Learning Society.
Zeng Jing, secretary of the Communist Youth League Committee of HUTB, gave the opening speech on the meeting. She summarized the series of learning and preaching activities carried out by the learning society during the winter vacation and around the May 4th Youth Day. She called on everyone to share their learning and living experience with each other and pay attention to self-improvement during their stay at home. She stressed that the students shall further explore how thelearning society can combine with the new era, further enter the grassroots and the common people, learn in the process of propaganda and preach in the process of learning.
Members of the Learning Society shared their actions, knowledge, thoughts and insights around epidemic prevention and control, on-line propaganda, and learning from the general secretary's message. Liu Peidong, president of the Learning Society, said: “We will preach whatever the people need"; Yuan Bin, a national outstanding Communist Youth League member and former president of the Learning Society, shared his experience of participating in epidemic prevention work at the grassroots level as a young volunteer. Song Panpan, who participated in the epidemic prevention and control work in the grass-roots community in Turpan City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, expressed her hope to contribute her own strength to the epidemic prevention and control. It is her duty and responsibility to contribute to her hometown. Xiong Xian shared her thoughts on Xi Jinping's series of speeches as a young party member with the theme of “Young Party members keep their hearts at the beginning, and epidemic prevention fortresses meet their missions". Wang Tongtong also shared the sentiment of learning the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's message. Ma Qitao and Qiu Weijun expressed their feelings on participating in the online epidemic prevention knowledge micro-propaganda. Liu Taowei and Yin Na shared their study and life situation during the epidemic.
Tang Yayang, secretary of the Party Committee of HUTB, fully affirmed the achievements of the learning society in a series of learning and propaganda activities during the epidemic, and put forward prospects and requirements for the work of the learning society in the next period. Secretary Tang Yayang said that he was very happy to meet the students through online video conference and praised the students of HUTB for “having a feeling of hometown and country and having a responsibility.” At the same time, he put forward three suggestions: First, we should properly arrange our study and life in this semester. Second, it is necessary to keep in mind the identity of the theoretical propagandist of the learning society. Third, we should think about some profound issues through this epidemic prevention and control. In addition, Secretary Tang Yayang also made a brief introduction to the work arrangement of epidemic prevention and control, semester open and students returning to school.
During the epidemic prevention and control period, the Learning Society, under the leadership of the Communist Youth League Committee of HUTB , carried out a series of learning and propaganda activities to help prevent and control the epidemic. By establishing “epidemic prevention propaganda light cavalry” propaganda teams, making “learning society epidemic prevention knowledge lecture hall” and “May 4th Youth Day Talk” series of micro-propaganda videos, and the launching of a series of activities to learn the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's message, the online propaganda positions have been actively expanded and the sense of responsibility and ownership of young college students in the new era have been widely transmitted to all sectors of society. In addition, some members of the learning society have also given full play to the advantages of theoretical lecturers and actively participated in grass-roots epidemic prevention and control work as young volunteers, which produced positive social repercussions.
