[Epidemic Prevention and Control] Alumni Entrepreneurs of HUTB Support Social Epidemic Prevention and Control

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the alumni entrepreneurs of HUTB worldwide have actively responded to the call of the Party and the country. They acted quickly with all their strength to support the social epidemic prevention and control and to ensure the supply of anti-epidemic materials.

“No layoffs, no salary cuts, and do what we can to win the anti-epidemic battle,” Tan Xiancai, HUTB's alumnus majoring in accounting in the class of 1985 and General Manager of Tianzhi International Accounting Firm, said in an interview with the media. Despite the impact on the revenues from COVID-19, Tan Xiancai worked with his friend on procuring nearly RMB1.5 million’s worth of medical materials to support the anti-epidemic frontline. Currently, RMB1.27 million’s worth of medical goods has been delivered and sent to several key anti-epidemic hospitals in Xiaogan City, Hubei Province.

Alumni entrepreneurs represented by Tan Xiancai generously donated funds and goods, mobilized all resources available, and took practical actions to support the social epidemic prevention and control. Xiong Peng, an alumnus majoring in information management in the class of 1999 and President of the Hunan Chamber of Commerce in the U.K participated in organizing overseas Chinese to donate a batch of medical materials worth RMB1.03 million to Hunan Province. Shu Bin, an alumnus majoring in marketing in the class of 2012 and founder of the community operation platform, “Haitunshenghuo”, donated 370,000 medical masks to the Union Hospital of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Ning Songkai, an alumnus majoring in marketing in the class of 1996,donated several batches of medical goods such as masks, protective clothing, medicines, infrared thermometers to the hospitals and schools in Dongguan and Wuhan, with a totalworth of over RMB520,000. Hunan Cihui Medical Technology Co., Ltd., whose Chairman, Jiang Yonghui, majored in marketing at HUTB in the class of 1998, donated 6000 bottles of Healthy Antibacterial Liquid to the Tibet Autonomous Region and 1800 bottles of such liquid to Pozi Subdistrict, Tianxin District, Changsha City. Fudi Logistics Company, whose Chairman, Fan Jianwen, majored in commodity prices in the class of 1992, donated 500 boxes of Pepsi-Quaker nutritional cereals to the medical staff working on the frontline of the epidemic areas. Hunan Xinfa Food Co. Ltd., whose General Manager, Xiao Zhixiong, majored in business administration in the class of 2013, donated 10,000 kg of Xinfa day lily produced in Qidong County and worth RMB700,000 to Caidian District Charity Federation of Wuhan. Hunan Jiahui Group, whose director, Ye Hongxin, majored in commodity prices in the class of 1978, donated RMB2 million in cash, 500,000 medical masks, and 20 tons of disinfectant to the Huaihua Red Cross Society for the local epidemic prevention and control. Alumni associations and alumni all around the country also supported the social epidemic prevention and control in various forms.

In the face of COVID-19, many alumni entrepreneurs of HUTB selflessly devoted funds and goods to support the social epidemic prevention and control.
