[Epidemic Prevention and Control] HUTB Sets up Medical Quarantine Observation Areas

To implement the important guiding principles and requirements of the superior on epidemic prevention and control, Hunan University of Technology and Business (HUTB) organized repeated demonstrations among the relevant departments such as the Student Affairs Office, the Logistics Department, and Beijin College. Finally, the University decided to set Block 14 of Xiande Student Apartment in the Southern Campus and the Youth Apartment in the Northern Campus as medical quarantine observation areas, in a bid to strictly prevent the epidemic from spreading to the campus and to ensure the teachers’ and students’ safety and health. On February 19, the University officially started to lay out the medical quarantine observation areas.
The University developed specific implementation plans for the layout of the two medical quarantine observation areas. Through issuing relevant notices, the University explained in detail to the students originally living in Block 14 of Xiande Student Apartment in the Southern Campus the cause and purpose for the medical quarantine observation area, the cleaning procedures and storage forms of objects in the quarantine dormitories, etc. The tutors (head teachers) of relevant schools conveyed the notices to students detail by detail and provided ideological guidance. The students all showed understanding to this policy and expressed that they would actively support the University’s epidemic prevention and control.
The Student Affairs Office organized the staff of the Apartment Center, relevant secondary schools, property management company, etc. in the Southern Campus to lay out the quarantine rooms of Block 14 of Xiande Student Apartment; Beijin College organized the staff of the Student Affairs Office, Logistics Department, Assets Department, property management company, etc. in the Northern Campus to lay out the quarantine rooms of the Youth Apartment. The two teams closely cooperated with each other on the orderly implementation of such tasks as material procurement, luggage packaging, item handling, sanitation cleaning, and site disinfection. Finally, they laid out a total of 46 rooms on the 3rdand 5thfloors of Block 14 of Xiande Student Apartment in the Southern Campus and a total of 36 rooms on the 4thand 6thfloors of the Youth Apartment in the Northern Campus on time, with other rooms on the other floors used as spare quarantine rooms. According to statistics, by the accommodation standard of one room for a single person, the northernand southern medical quarantine observation areas can accommodate 91 and 70 people, respectively.
Before the semester begins, the University will keep solidly preparing the medical quarantine observation areas, training the staff on epidemic prevention and control, and implementing the layout and management of the medical quarantine observation areas, in a bid to lay a good foundation for the smooth start of the new semester. （Reported by Zhang Gaoyang.
