[Epidemic Prevention and Control] Student Apartment Management Service and Education Center Acting to Fight for Victory in Anti-Epidemic Battle

Upon the outbreak of COVID-19, the Student Apartment Management Service and Education Center (hereinafter referred to as the Apartment Center) instantly launched the emergency response plan and organized specialists to keep on duty throughout the winter vacation. All these efforts have been earnestly made to ensure the thorough implementation of anti-epidemic work for student apartments.
In the early stage of the epidemic prevention and control, in line with the HUTB's arrangements,the Apartment Center checked all student apartments in a timely and comprehensive manner, mobilized domestic students on campus to return home safely, and closed all student apartments except Lingnan Apartment and the first floor of Block 5 of Xianjia Apartment. During the closure of student apartments, the Apartment Center arrangedspecialiststo handle the consultation and coordination of student affairs. Through the QQ group of“HUTB Apartment Home” and the Student Work Management Group online, the Apartment Center timely released the epidemic dynamics and prevention prompts and reminded students not to return to school in advance.
“There are 48 international students on campus during the winter vacation. That means we need to ensure their food supplies and safety. We meticulously reminded them to keep ventilation, wash their hands frequently, wear masks, and go out less,” Wang Ping, director of the Apartment Center, said. To strive to provide good apartment management services for international students, the Apartment Center worked with relevant departments on regularly procuring food materials to ensure international students’ nutritional needs; every day, the Apartment Center distributed health protective goods to international students, disinfected and cleaned their living areas, and took their temperatures.
Along with the advancement of the national epidemic prevention and control, basing on the anti-epidemic arrangements of the Ministry of Education, Hunan Provincial Department of Education, and HUTB as well as the work requirements of HUTB’s leaders, the Apartment Center further adjusted and promoted the university’s epidemic prevention and control for student apartments. Firstly, the Apartment Center strengthened on-duty management, security patrols and other work. Following the duty schedules it prepared, specialists kept on duty around the clock to completely prevent off-campus people from entering the apartments, thus ensuring the safety and stability of student apartments. Secondly, the Apartment Center thoroughly disinfected and cleaned student apartments, especially the international students’ living areas. Thirdly, the Apartment Center strengthened the anti-epidemic training for its own on-duty staff and those from the property management companies to improve these on-duty workers’ safety awareness and prevention and control capabilities. Fourthly, the Apartment Center discussed and planed the epidemic prevention and control and preparations for school opening in the next stage. It has been endeavoring to ensure the orderly and timely completion of the equipment debugging and disease control and detection for hot water and direct drinking water systems, the construction, disinfection and cleaning of public self-service laundry room in Xiande Park, the disinfection and cleaning of vending machines, and apartment opening.
The Apartment Center always keeps a high sense of urgency and responsibility to resolutely prevent the epidemic from spreading to the campus and apartments, to firmly defend the teachers’ and students’ safety and health, and to strive to win victory in the anti-prevention battle.
