[Epidemic Prevention and Control] HUTB President &Academician Chen Xiaohong Inspects and Arranges HUTB's Epidemic Prevention and Control Work

Recently, Chen Xiaohong, President of Hunan University of Technology and Business(HUTB) and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, has inspected and arranged HUTB’s COVID-19 prevention and control work,sending regardstothe front-line faculty members and urging all departments to meticulously and thoroughly carry out epidemic prevention and control tasks.



At the gates of the campus, President Chenchecked the access control recordsand asked the security guards and cleaners on duty about the details on the work like personnel and vehicle access management, health protection, and sanitary guarantee. At the monitoring sites, office areas, and student apartments on the campus, she inspected the disinfection, publicity on epidemic prevention and control, and other anti-epidemic work. In thecampus medical room, President Chen communicated with the medical staff on dutyabout the detailed and specific measuresand processes of epidemic prevention and control. She expressed her sincere appreciation to the faculty members sticking to their posts during the winter vacation, encouraging them to work together with firm confidence, deep dedication, and great courage to fulfill their responsibilities of making due contributions to winning this battle against the epidemic.
At the Student Apartmentin the Lingnan Campus, President Chenalso cordially visited some international students staying here during the winter vacation, reminding them to pay attention to personal hygiene and not to go out for activities, parties, or dining. She told them that HUTB would offer international students anti-epidemic subsidies and specially purchase a batch of daily suppliestomeet theirlife needs and solvepractical difficultiesduring epidemic prevention and control. President Chen encouraged these students to keep faith inthe Chinese government and people who are sure to be able to timely contain and finally eliminate the epidemic with the nation’s concerted and all-out efforts.
During the inspection, President Chen heard the reports from relevant departments on the previous anti-epidemic work. She affirmed the efforts all departments had made and arranged the relevant work in the next step.First, great importance should be attached to epidemic prevention and control. President Chen required that while clearly understanding the severity of the current epidemic situation, we must resolutely implement the anti-epidemic arrangements and requirements of the Party Central Committee, the State Council, Hunan Provincial Party Committee, Hunan Provincial Government, and Hunan Provincial Department of Education with firm confidence.Second, the faculty of the University should solidly fulfill their due responsibilities in the epidemic prevention and control. President Chen required that efforts should be made to further intensify the faculty's sense of urgency and responsibility for anti-epidemic work with scientific, orderly, and solid implementation.Third, campus safety management should be well ensured. Efforts should be done to enhance campus access management and to disinfect and clean public areas and key places.Fourth, continued efforts should be made in personnel screening and registration, and the “daily reporting and zero reporting” system should be strictly implemented according to the relevant provisions from the superior.Fifth, efforts should be done to guarantee the life of international students staying in school and to help them solve practical problems. In the meantime, management should be strengthened to ensure the safety and orderliness of these students’ campus life.Sixth, efforts should be made to well publicize the anti-epidemic knowledge and to mobilize all the teachers and students to join in the war against the epidemic.
President Chen required that relevant departments should follow the unified arrangements from the superior to well prepare the plans for relevant work and responses after the school opens and students return. She urged that all departments should work together to defendthe safety and health ofthe faculty and student and to strive to win the battle against the epidemic.
