【Epidemic Prevention and Control】Make Joint Efforts to Win the Fight of Epidemic Prevention and Control---- A Letter from HUTB to All Teachers, Students and Parents of Students

In the early spring of 2020, asudden outbreak of novel coronaviruspneumoniaepidemicaffected the whole the country. Faced with the serious situation of epidemic prevention and control work, the CPC Central Committee and the State Council paid high attentionto it. General Secretary Xi Jinping gave important instructionsand required to “put the people’s life safety and health in the first, and take epidemic prevention and control work as the most important work at present”.
“The epidemic is an order, and prevention and control is the responsibility”. At present, Hunan Province has started public health emergency first-level response mechanism, and the novel coronaviruspneumoniaepidemic prevention and control has become the top priority task. According to the unified deployment of the Central Government and Hunan Provincial Government, Hunan University of Technology and Business is doing its best to prevent and control the novel coronaviruspneumonia epidemic. HUTB attaches great importance to and cares for the health and safety of every teacher and student. In order to resolutely curb the spread of the epidemic and win the victory in the prevention and control, wehereby put forward the following suggestions to all teachers and students and students’parents:
1. Obey the arrangementof university, do not return to the university in advance.Notify every student (including the undergraduate and postgraduatestudents who have gone through the formalities forstaying in the university during the winter vacation before the holidays) through effective methods. No studentsareallowed to return in advance before the new semester begins. HUTB will notify separately the specific time of returning. The make-up examinationsat the beginning of the original semester shallbe arranged separately after the students’ return. The teaching practice (including professional practice, graduation practice etc.) and social practice activities of various majors shall be suspended temporarily, and shall be arranged as appropriate according to the teaching plan after the epidemicalarm is relieved.
2.Report the epidemic situation timely and never conceal or fail to report.HUTB implements a “daily report and zero report” system for the epidemic prevention and control. Each student is required to report his/her actual epidemic situation including that of his/herfamily to the instructorbefore 10:00 a.m. every day according to the requirements of the university. The teaching and administrative staff shall report the epidemic situation of them and their familiesto the liaison persons concernedon time every day. Any thing arising shall be reported;if nothinghappens, arising, it is also required to report for safety; it is forbidden to conceal the truth or fail to report.Keep the mobile phone and network communication unblocked, every student should pay close attention to the his/her class we-chat group, all the staff pay close attention to theircorrespondingwe-chat group, to ensure that the information can be uploaded and distributed.
3.Strengthen the prevention and control awareness and take the initiative to prevent the epidemic.Create a good living environment, maintain good health habits, wear medical surgical masks or N95 masks, minimize outdoor activities, minimize contact with public goods and parts in public places, and temporarily refrain from organizing and participating in gathering activities such as parties. If there are teachers and students who have recently lived or stayed in Hubei Province (especially Wuhan City) or have contact with people in the epidemic areas, even if there are no symptoms, do stay consciously at home for 14 days. Adhere to the daily self-check and self-test, and pay close attention to the health of yourself and your family. In case of fever, cough, dyspnea and other symptom, especially persistent fever, fatigue, dry cough or having the history touching pneumonia cases infected by novel coronavirus, do not panic,please take protective measures and see a doctor in a local designated medical institution in time. Donot evade detection, actively cooperate with the local government prevention and control measures.
4.Scientific planning of the vacation life, no wasting time, no decadent.Maintain a normal life pattern, establish a work schedule, and maintain adequate sleep. Choose activities that can be done at home as appropriate to relax body and mind, reduce anxiety and maintain a good state of mind. We should make good use of vacation time to “charge up electricity” and carry out studies, scientific research, reading and other activities at home. According to the relevant arrangements for follow-up teaching and scientific research in the university, we should make reasonable study plans, arrange study life at home and ensure a full vacation life. Graduates are required to write their graduation thesis (design) at home and regularly contact their instructors through online means.
5. Rational perspective on the epidemic development，no believing rumour, no spreading rumour.We should have a Rational perspective on the epidemicdevelopment, obtain information and prevention and control knowledge through official authoritative channels, do not start rumors, do not believe rumors, do not spread rumors, and eliminate anxiety and panicmood.
Life is more important than everything. Protecting the health of every teacher and student is the duty-bound mission of HUTB. In the face of this sudden epidemic, we firmly believe that under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council and under the unified deployment of the provincial government, all teachers, students and staff should work hand in hand, help each other in the same boat, prevent and control the epidemic scientifically, and implement accurate policies. Weare suretowin this epidemic prevention and control war and embrace a safetyand health in2020.
