Chairwoman Li Weiwei of CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee Visited Academician Chen Xiaohong

On the morning of January 20, Chairwoman Li Weiwei of CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committeecame to the campus for a visit of HUTB President Academician Chen Xiaohong, expressed spring festival blessings and listened to the opinions. The accompanying officials were Zhang Dafang, Vice-chairman of CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committeeand Chairman of Jiusan SocietyHunan Provincial Committee; Lai Mingyong, Vice-chairman of CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committeeand Chairman of CDNCA Hunan Provincial Committee; Qing Jianwei, Secretary-general of CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee; and Meng Xiangli, Deputy Director of HunanProvincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security. HUTB officials participating in the visit were Vice-presidents Peng Jinqing, Zeng Fuqiu,Liu Guoquan and Nie Guoqing,and other department heads.
Chairwoman Li Weiwei and herentourage visited the disciplines scientific research achievements exhibition, intelligent manufacturing laboratory, academician’sachievementsexhibition, environment intelligent monitoring and big data analysis laboratory, new retail virtual reality technologyHunan provincial key laboratory, block chain technology laboratory, artificial intelligence and robot innovation laboratory, internet-of-things technology laboratory and mobile business intelligenceHunan provincial key laboratory. During the visit, they listened to the presentation of research directions, research projects, construction objectives and other relevant information of thelaboratories;learned about the application of related technologies in practice and experienced VR virtual technology with great interest;and watched intelligent manufacturing demonstration, environmental datadynamic monitoring and robotsfighting.
After listening to the relevant reportsat the symposium, Chairwoman Li Weiwei highly affirmed HUTB’s great changes and rapid development achieved in recent years and the scientific research achievements made by Academician Chen's team in applying new generation information technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence and block chain inenvironmental treatment, intelligent manufacturing, commerce, education and other fields. She spoke highly of Academician Chen’s research achievements for the outstanding contribution to the social and economic development in Hunan, and especially gave high praiseof Academician Chen's professional and wonderful speech at the recently-held remote consultation conference chaired by Chairman Wang Yang.
Additionally, Chairwoman Li Weiwei expressed herSpring Festival greetings to Academician Chen, who has been working hard in the frontline, and encouraged her to continue to obtain more scientific research achievements. She hoped Academician Chen tomake greater contributions to the national and local economic development in scientific research, talenttraining and sci-tech achievementstransformation. As a CPPCCmember in Hunan, the academician was hoped tomake more suggestions for the development of Hunan. Meanwhile, Chairwoman Li Weiwei hopedthat HUTB will provide more talents and intellectual support for Hunan’s implementation of “innovation-oriented and rising by opening up”strategy and high-quality development. She wishedHUTBto a new level in various undertakings in the new year.
Academician Chen Xiaohong expressed herheartfelt thanks to the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People’s Government and CPPCCHunan Provincial Committeefor their long-term care and support. She said that she would lead herteam to continue to climb the scientific research peak bravely, aim at the country’s major strategic needs with a higher vision and a larger pattern, do more outstandingresearchesand strive for more and better results. As a CPPCCmember, she will conscientiously perform herduties and dare to take on new responsibilities. She will make new contributions to the development of Hunan and strive to make new and greater contributions to Hunan’s high-quality developmentand implementation of “innovation-oriented and rising by opening up”strategy.At the same time, HUTB will adhere to the idea of “new engineering + new business”, “technology+commerce” and “advancement both inindustry and commerce”, adhere to take the road of connotative development, innovative development, opening-updevelopment and characteristic development, serve HunanProvince, face the whole country, go to the world, and make great efforts to build a domestic first-rate technology and business university with prominent contributions.
