HUTB Students Winning Three First Prizes in the Provincial “Three Solos” Competition

Recently, the teachers and students from the Music Performance Department, School of Design and Art, HUTB have achieved great success in the Seventh Hunan Musical Dance Undergraduates Solo Singing, Solo Performance and Solo Dance Competition in 2019.


The Students majoring in music and dance from 20-odd colleges and universities in the province participated in the competition covering 9 items including folk style singing, bel canto, popular singing, national instrumental music, western instrumental music, classical dance and modern dance. HUTB player Fu Jinglin won the first prize for piano in the undergraduate group, Xiang Fengchen won the first prize for national instrumental music in the undergraduate group and Liao Zezhong won the first prize for western instrumental music in the undergraduate group; Liu Fan, Pan Shang, Song Xiaohe, Chen Hui, Meng Xi and Zheng Yanmei respectively won the third prize in the corresponding groups. The faculty including Tang Huichi, Yangyang, Zhou Wanyi, Chen Weizhu and Wu Yong from the Music Performance Department, School of Design and Art, HUTB led their students to participate in the competition.


Since the establishment in 2017, the Music Performance Department of School of Design and Art has been adhering to HUTB motto of “sincerity, honesty and innovation”, consolidating the foundation, and has gradually formed distinctive school-running features. The excellent results achieved in this competition reflect a full affirmation to the teachers and students of the Music Performance Department. While winning honors for HUTB, the students have improved their understanding and grasp of the professional knowledge and broadened their horizons. (by Wu Yong)
