Three Majors of HUTB Approved as National First-class Undergraduate Major Construction Points

Recently, the Notice on Publishing List of First-Class National and Provincial Undergraduate Major Construction Points in 2019(Jiao Gao Ting Han [2019] No.46 Document issued by the General Office of the Ministry of Education) shows that HUTB’s 3 majors including business administration major led by Academician Chen Xiaohong, logistics management major led by Professor Huang Fuhua and finance major led by Professor Liu Saihong have been approved as first-class national undergraduate major construction points. In addition, HUTB’s 9 majors including trade economy, law, economics, English, information and computing science, computer science and technology, accounting, tourism management and visual communication design have been approved as provincial first-class undergraduate major construction points.

By implementing the strategy of “basing on undergraduate program, four regressions” and formulating the First-class Undergraduate Education Action Plan (2019-2021)in recent years, HUTB has laid stress on national and regional strategies and high-quality economic development requirements in the major connotation construction, taken social needs as the guidance, given full play to the long-term accumulated discipline and major advantages, and innovated and improved the talent training mode. The selection of 12 majors into the list of national and provincial first-class undergraduate major construction points is not only a phased confirmation of the effectiveness of HUTB's major construction and talent training, but also puts forward new requirements for the next-phase work. HUTB will further strengthen the cross-disciplinary integration and construction upgrading, promote the certification and assessment of majors, cultivate the cluster of characteristic and advantageous majors, and comprehensively improve majors construction level.
