[The 70th Anniversary of Founding] Mr. Zhou Lingzhao Donated Books to Our University and Was Employed as the Honorary Professor

On Oct. 20, the ceremony of the book donation and the employment of Honorary Professor for the Mr. Zhou Lingzhao and the unveiling ceremony of school motto cultured stone were held in the library and the ground in the front of economic management comprehensive building, respectively. President & Academician Chen Xiaohong, Professor Xia Jichun, the Executive Deputy President of Alumni Association and the former Deputy Secretary of Party Committee, the leaders of Party Committee Office and Government Office, Propaganda Department, Library, Human Resource Office, Academic Affairs Office, Alumni Association, Design and Art Institute, etc., the donator Zhou Lingzhao, the alumni Zhou Kunming, participated in the donation ceremony, and the ceremony was presided over by the Professor Xia Jichun.
In order to celebrate the 70thanniversary of Hunan University of Technology and Business, the school motto cultured stone autographed by the centenarian Zhou Lingzhao and contributed by alumni Zhou Kunming, the President of Hubei Alumni Association, was established on the ground in the front of Economic Management Comprehensive Building. The Mr. Zhou Lingzhao also donated his autographed and collected books to the library.
The Mr. Zhou Lingzhao made speech at the donation meeting, and said: "I am one hundred years old this year and I am lucky and very happy to participate in the unveiling ceremony of school motto cultured stone of your university. I wish Hunan University of Technology and Business will become better and better and hope your university could cultivate more useful talents for country!"
The President & Academician Chen Xiaohong spoke highly of the Mr. Zhou Lingzhao in making huge contribution to country, which is the national valuable fortune. The donation of the Mr. Zhou Lingzhao and the alumni Zhou Kunming greatly inspire teachers and students, and such feelings touch us. All of them are good education for our university to promote the aesthetic edification and comprehensive quality of young students and to cultivate students into the talents with integrated development in morality, intelligence, sports, aesthetics and labor. We wish the Mr. Zhou Lingzhao have good health and long life and wish alumni's career is more brilliant.
The President & Academician Chen Xiaohong also awarded the donation certificate to The Mr. Zhou Lingzhao, specially invited his to act as the Honorary Professor of our unirversity and donated the Chinese knot "fives blessings add longevity" to him.
After that, in the front of new economic management comprehensive building, the President & Academician Chen Xiaohong and the Mr. Zhou Lingzhao jointly unveiled the school motto cultured stone.
The Mr. Zhou Lingzhao is the author of Chairman Mao's portrait at Tiananmen Gatetower during the founding ceremony, and participated in the design of national emblem and the Emblem of the CPPCC, designed the League flag and Team Pennant of Young Pioneers, led to design the August 1 Medal, Medal of Independence and Freedom and Liberation Medal. He is also the overall designer of the face value of the second, third and fourth generation of RMB, and is reputed as "National Image Designer of the People's Republic of China".
