Hou Weimin and Zhang Jiangang, Researchers of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Came to Our University Give Lectures

On Aug. 11, Hou Weimin, Deputy Director of the Research Center for Economic and Social Development of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Zhang Jiangang, Associate Editor of Studies on Marxist, were invited to our university to give lectures. Tang Yayang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the University, attended the lecture. The heads of the Organization Department, Office of Student Affairs and Youth League Committee, and all teachers of Institute of Marxism listened to the lecture. The lecture was presided over by Peng Huancai, Dean of Institute Marxism.
Starting from the learning experience of Learning Outline of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, researcher Hou Weimin elaborated on the basis of the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, transformation and presentation of current main contradictions of Chinese society, and innovative achievements of Marxism with Chinese characteristics. He pointed out that innovation was the inexhaustible impetus of development, and the majority of teaching and scientific research workers should pay attention to thinking and innovation. He said that the Outlinewas rich in contents and was one of the important reference books for in-depth study and understanding of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. It deserved the extensive study by the vast number of cadres and masses.
Starting from the edition, researcher Zhang Jiangang explained how to write excellent papers, characteristics of excellent academic papers and review process of Editorial Department, and pointed out that excellent academic papers should be academic and innovative. He stressed that teaching and scientific research workers should pay attention to details and innovation when writing papers, and strive for the academic integrity when submitting.
Secretary Tang Yayang thanked two experts for coming to our university to give lectures and spoke highly of the lectures. He said that what every teaching and scientific research worker is doing and must do is to keep up with the times, deepen the understanding of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and focus on academic innovation and integrity. He required that Institute of Marxism should further strengthen the foreign academic exchanges and constantly enhance the comprehensive strength and influence of the discipline construction. All teachers and Party members and cadres of the university should broaden their horizons, think actively, practice bravely, improve themselves, and strive unremittingly to realize the new development of the university.
