In the afternoon of Jun. 28, Jiang Hongchao, Director-general of the United Front Office of the Party Construction of the Ideological and Political Department of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, came to the university to investigate the party construction. Tang Yayang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the University, attended the symposium. Relevant functional departments and secretaries of secondary Party organizations participated in the symposium.
Secretary Tang Yayang expressed his gratitude to the Ideological and Political Department of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China for its long-term care, support and guidance to the university on behalf of the university, and briefly introduced the development of the university, especially implementation of the president responsibility system under the leadership of the Party Committee, promotion of joint meeting system of the party and government of secondary schools, establishment and improvement of the grass-roots party construction system and guarantee mechanism, strengthening of Party member management and education, and promotion of comprehensively and strictly governing the depth and breadth development of our university.
Based on the actual work, participants introduced the characteristics and achievements of Party construction, analyzed the existing problems and put forward relevant suggestions.
Director-general Jiang Hongchao affirmed the Party construction of our university, and hoped that the university would continue to strengthen Party's political construction, adhere to the socialist school-running direction, implement the basic task of strengthening moral education and cultivating people, establish correct education orientation, improve the school-running quality, and make greater contributions to the national and local economic and social development in accordance with the requirements of the Central Committee and the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. He deeply analyzed the new situation, tasks and challenges faced by current Party construction in colleges and universities, and elaborated on the quality critical action carried out by Leading Party Group of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, construction plan of "benchmarking and being first", "the New Century National Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talent Project", and "double-leader" cultivation project of the Secretary of the Party Branch of teachers in colleges and universities.
He required that, under the leadership of the Party's political construction, we should strengthen the overall leadership of the Party in colleges and universities, give full play to leading core role of the Party Committee of the university, and lead the university to develop with more characteristics and higher quality. Furthermore, we should strengthen the incorrupt Party style construction, and create a clean and upright political environment. We should further promote the normal and institutionalized education of "two studies, one action", conscientiously carry out the theme education of "stay true to the mission and keep the mission in mind", arm brains, guide practice and promote work with Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirits of the 19thNational Congress of the Communist Party. We should carry out the basic task of strengthening moral education and cultivating people, and strive to cultivate builders and successors who can take on the great responsibility of national rejuvenation through learning and finding out problems. Finally, we should strengthen system construction, correct the political life of the Party seriously, and implement the regulations on education and management of Party members. We should also do a good job in the standardized construction of the Party Branch, implement the ideological and political work, strict education and management of Party members and the mass work in the Branch, and improve the grass-roots Party construction quality.
Secretary Tang also put forward his own thoughts on how to implement the Party's overall leadership over colleges and universities, why to put the Party's political construction in the first place, how to implement the basic task of strengthening moral education and cultivating people, how to play the role of the Party organizations of colleges and departments, how to promote the Party's organization construction with the help of theme education, and how to have new actions for Party cadres in the new era, etc. He said that the university would further guide teachers and students to build "four consciousness", firm "four confidence", achieve "two maintenance", stay true to the mission and keep the mission in mind, carry out the Party construction well, and provide a powerful motivation and strong guarantee for the development of all businesses of the university in strict accordance with the requirements of the Central Committee and the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China.
