The Opening Ceremony of the 1st Academician Class was Held

On the evening of Oct. 14, the class opening ceremony of the first Academician Excellence Class was held in F101 of Lezhi Building. Vice President Liu Guoquan attended the ceremony, and relevant persons in charge of Office of Academic Affairs, Department of Recruitment and Career Guidance, Modern Education Technology Center, School of Mathematics and Statistics, School of Computer Science & Information Technology, School of Finance and Business School, and all students of 2018 Excellence Class participated in the ceremony. The conference was presided over by Liu Daobo, Director of Office of Academic Affairs.
At the conference, the persons in charge of Office of Academic Affairs, School of Mathematics and Statistics and School of Computer Science & Information Technology successively introduced the establishment conditions of Academician Excellence Class and the features and advantages of Digital Economy Excellence Class and Smart Management Excellence Class. The student representative made a statement to declare their attitude.
Vice President Liu Guoquan awarded the class board and certificate for Academician Excellent Class. During the speech, he pointed out that the Party Committee and administrative office of the University paid high attention to Academician Excellence Class, and required all departments should work together to turn Academician Excellence Class into a business card, a highlight and a brand of the University. Through the establishment of Academician Excellence Class, it is necessary to innovate the talent cultivation mode to make more contribution to the cultivation of higher quality undergraduate talents. He hoped that all new students cherish the learning opportunity of the excellence class, study hard and assiduously and complete their studies with high standard and quality.
Under the advocacy of President Academician Chen Xiaohong and the overall planning of Office of Academic Affairs and other departments, Academician Excellence Class was jointly established by relevant colleges in accordance with the spirit of the National Education Conference and "Working Conference on Undergraduate Education of Colleges and Universities in New Era" of Ministry of Education. This year, Smart Management Academician Excellence Class and Digital Economy Academician Excellence Class were established. Some excellent classes will be increased properly in the next year to continuously strengthen the characteristics of talent cultivation in our University, highlight the multidisciplinary cross and multi-specialty integration, and cultivate innovative, entrepreneurial, application-oriented, interdisciplinary first-class talents.
