[Lecture Hall ] Professor Zeng Dajun Invited to Give a Lecture Titled "Swarm Intelligence-driven Data Analysis"

On Sep. 28,  Lecture 1 of Lecture Hall of Academicians, Distinguished Youth and Masters in Yangtze River region and Lecture 76 of Lushan Lecture Hall was held in the Yingcai Lecture Hall of the library. This lecture was mainly given by Professor Zeng Dajun, a researcher of Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and its theme was "Swarm Intelligence-driven Data Analysis". All postgraduates in 2018 and undergraduate students of relevant majors attended this lecture. Vice President Zeng Fuqiu presided over this lecture. 

Professor Zeng Dajun studied his undergraduate courses in School of the Gifted Young, University of Science and Technology of China, and got a doctor's degree of School of Business of Carnegie Mellon University/Robot Institute in 1998. After the graduation, he served as a life-long teaching staff and named professor of School of Management, University of Arizona. In Mar. 2007, he was selected into "Hundred Talents Program" of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Currently, he is a researcher and doctoral supervisor of Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Deputy Director of The State Key Laboratory for Management and Control of Complex Systems and Director of Internet Big Data and Security Information Research Center.

During the lecture, Professor Zeng Dajun introduced the connotation of "swarm intelligence" from many aspects, and described the typical application of "Swarm Intelligence 2.0" from data annotation and collection, environmental awareness, knowledge sharing and problem solving and creation. He also expounded the interaction and application goals of swarm intelligence and artificial intelligence through abundant cases. He encouraged students to find the proper research direction, lay a solid foundation and rise abruptly based on the accumulated strength.

In order to guide the postgraduates to set up the lofty ideals, concentrate on the study and research and strive to become a person with ideal, feelings and responsibilities, the University specially set the lecture hall of academician, distinguished youths and famous person with the theme of "My Ideal and Research Road". This lecture is the first part of famous lecture hall. Professor Zeng Dajun's lecture was informative, professional and vivid, all seats of the hall were occupied and teachers and students profited a lot from it.
