Our University Welcomed 2018 Students Getting Together in HNUC and Setting Sail

We welcomed students from all over the country in the cool Autumn to jointly build a beautiful future. On Sep. 15 and 16, more than 6,300 new students in 2018 from all over the country went into the campus of HNUC to open a new chapter of life. On the afternoon of Sep. 15, Tang Yayang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the university, President Academician Chen Xiaohong, Vice President Zeng Fuqiu and Liu Guoquan went to the station to welcome the arrival of new students in Changsha Railway Station, the sites to welcome the arrival of new students in the south and north campuses, student apartments, student canteen and other places to inspect and guide the work related to new students, visited new students and parents, and greeting staffs.
During the inspection, Secretary Tang Yayang learned about the work of units in details, highly affirmed the intense and orderly work of welcoming the arrival of new students, and praised the warm and thoughtful service of volunteers. He required that relevant functional departments and colleges should fulfill their duties, cooperate and pay attention to the details, and do a good job in welcoming the new students to let parents and students at ease. He also had a cordial talk with new students and parents, introduced the information of the University to them, and encouraged new students to cherish their university years, study diligently, unite and help each other, striving to be excellent students of HNUC.
President Chen Xiaohong carefully inquired about the registration of new students, green channel, meal preparation of the canteen and accommodation arrangements for new students, expressed condolences to the hard-working teachers, students, staff and volunteers, expressed her satisfaction to the well-regulated work related to new students, and praised the colleges and departments for the special method to welcome the arrival of new students. In the rest area for parents, she visited 2018 new students and their parents, showed her thanks to the trust of the parents, and encouraged students to be ambitious, have dreams and succeed in a special field of study. On the spot, she also investigated the publicity and early stage organization work of the Academician Excellent Talent Class.
It is reported that in 2018, our University recruited 6,383 students from 30 provinces and municipalities, including 243 postgraduate students and 5,910 undergraduate students (including 240 students from the Sino-Foreign Cooperative Undergraduate Program of International Business School, and 1,626 students from Beijin College), and 230 junior college students. It is the first time for HNUC to enroll the first batch of undergraduate students within the province, and the student source quality reached a new level again. In addition, the cut-off line of liberal arts students is 583 scores, that of the science students is 528 scores, and there are 46 students with the scores exceeding 600 scores, ranking the first place among the colleges and universities that become a key university in the recent period within the province.
