“Beyond the Dream” Symphony Concert Is Held Splendidly and Alumni Make Investment for Alma Mater Development

The “Beyond the Dream” Symphony Concert was held splendidly by Hunan University of Commerce in stadium in the evening of May 3. Chen Xiaohong, the President and academician, Xia Jichun, the Vice Director of Party Committee, Zeng Fuqiu and Liu Guoquan, the Vice President, and Liu Siwei, the First-grade Honorary Professor gathered with teachers and students to enjoy the music festival.

This concert was held under the donation of Wang Zhiheng, Li Ming, Liu Xufeng, Jin Yuxing, Xue Anxiang, Xie Lijun, Liu Liancai, Dongguan Alumni Association, Changsha Alumni Association and Huaihua Alumni Association. Hunan Symphony Orchestra was invited to do a show during the concert.

Before the concert, Mr. Wang Zhiheng, the alumni representative and chairman of Alumni Entrepreneur Fellowship made a speech to extend his gratitude and congratulations on alma mater.

Ning Songkai donated RMB 1 million to set up “Wanghan Overseas Talent Plan· Foundation and conducted the donation ceremony in Hunan University of Commerce. In his speech, he expressed his gratitude to alma mater and good vision of school development in the future. This foundation is mainly aimed at encouraging teachers to upgrade their education or make advanced study in foreign countries, thus, Hunan University of Commerce can enhance its international horizon and scientific research level and serve its “three promotions” and “double first-class” construction.

Then, Chen Xiaohong made a speech on behalf of Hunan University of Commerce and extended the gratitude to alumni’s profound sentiments and constant attention of Ning Songkai. The foregoing foundation will further enhance the international education level and boost the construction of “three promotions” and “double first-class”. She said that Hunan University of Commerce realized the dream of several generations within the impressive achievements at present. This was the result of joint efforts of all Hunan University of Commerce people. She hoped that everyone could keep punching and strive to write glorious chapter for school development and contribute to the national development.

At the beginning of concert, the 9-year-old Ziyu, the “second generation of alumni” played the first movement, No. 2, D major piano concerto of Beethoven. Her elegant and soulful playing conveyed the alumni’s feeling of alma mater, affecting all students of Hunan University of Commerce and “second generation of alumni”.

As rhythmical Toca Train was playing, the “Beyond the Dream” Symphony Concert lifted its curtain. Xiao Ming, the commander of Hunan Symphony Orchestra and national first-grade conductor served as the commander in chief. Thanks to the excellent artists who came from Hunan Symphony Orchestra, the audiences enjoyed the light cavalry overture, Convey Goods News to Frontier Fortress From Beijing, Blue Danube, the Fifth of Hungarian Dances and other music tracks. This is a thoughtful, artistic and ornamental audio-visual feast.

The violin concerto the Butterfly Lovers played by Li Jie brought the audiences in the ancient but catchy folklore. Qiu Taowu, a tenor sang Days Road and Nobody Falls Asleep Tonight. His sonorous singing seemed to hit the soul. The well-known orchestral music, My Motherland made the audiences’ blood boil with its patriotism.

After the concert, all audiences stood up and clapped for a long time. Affected by all teachers and students, the artists of Hunan Symphony Orchestra played another Glory to compare it with the development of Hunan University of Commerce, namely, rise steeply and create glory again, just like the high-pitched melody.
