Academician Expert Workstation in HNUC Was Established

The unveiling ceremony of the academician expert workstation of HNUC was held in room 702 of the Second Office Mansion on the morning of March 16. Liu Renhuai, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering; He Xiuming, Leading Party Group member and deputy director of Provincial Science and Technology Department; Wang Yuli, deputy party secretary and vice chairman of Provincial Science and Technology Association; Chen Xiaohong, president of HNUC; and Peng Jinqing and Wang Minggao, vice presidents of HNUC, attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Vice President Peng Jinqing.

Zhou Shangwen, director of the Provincial Science and Technology Consulting Center read out the approval in which HNUC’s academician workstation was approved as Hunan Academician Expert Workstation.

Liu Renhuai, He Xiuming, Wang Yuli, and Chen Xiaohong unveiled the workstation plate together.

As a settled academician, Prof. Liu Renhuai of Chinese Academy of Engineering emotionally told the origin between him and Hunan. He said he was very pleased to participate in the work of HNUC’s academician workstation and to support the development of Hunan colleges and universities. He said that it was of great significance to manage innovation which made the national science and technology strong, and promoted economic development. He hoped to work with the experts in HNUC extensively, discuss in depth, exert the potential, and contribute to the university construction and the economic development of Hunan by using the influence and playing the leading role of him and his team.

On behalf of the Provincial Science and Technology Department, He Xiuming, leading party group member and deputy director of Provincial Science and Technology Department, congratulated on the set up of HNUC Academician Expert Workstation. He pointed out that the Provincial Party Committee and government attached great importance to innovation-driven, and the 11th Provincial Party Congress put forward the strategy of "Innovation-driven, Open and Rise". Provincial Science and Technology Department would give full support to the construction of academicians workstation. He hoped that HNUC could seize the opportunity, combine with strong forces, provide technical support to the reform and construction of commodity circulation in Hunan Province while ensuring the construction of disciplines, and make contributions to the construction of a rich, beautiful and new Hunan Province.

Wang Yuli, deputy secretary and vice chairman of Leading Party Group of Provincial Science and Technology Association, congratulated on the establishment of the academician workstation. He hoped that HNUC could seize the opportunities of technological development to strengthen innovation and the communication with academicians, create good conditions for academician experts to start work ASAP, and strive to be the provincial model academician workstation.

President Chen Xiaohong expressed heartfelt thanks for the care, guidance and support of academician Liu Renhuai, the Provincial Science and Technology Department and the Provincial Science and Technology Association. Chen said that our university would focus on the main objectives and tasks of the academician team and the workstation, tackle tough issues collaboratively, identify and refine the targets, and strive to build a harmonious, vibrant and innovative environment, so as to stimulate the creative vitality of academicians and their teams, thus make HNUC’s academician expert workstation a unique and high-level one, and strive to be an advanced model.

After the symposium, Liu Renhuai and his entourage also visited the Academician Expert Workstation, Xiande Maker Academy, Big Data and Internet Research Center, and Maker Workshop, etc.

The related personnel from Provincial Science and Technology Department, Provincial Association for Science and Technology, Provincial Science and Technology Advisory Center, and HNUC’s Office of Academic Affairs, Personnel Office, Research Office, School of Business Administration, School of Computer and Information Engineering, and School of Tourism Management participated in this event.

It is reported that HNUC’s Academician Expert Workstation will carry out cooperation in terms of  big data technology and applications, key technologies of modern trade circulation and applications, and tourism and regional economic development in the form that the settled academicians cooperating with scientific research personnel for penetrating hard targets, with the aim to improve the overall level of discipline construction, scientific research and personnel training in areas such as regional development and management engineering, commercial layout optimization and logistics engineering, commercial circulation data analysis and application, and to enhance HNUC’s overall strength in serving Hunan's commercial circulation, especially serving  the overall force lifting for the construction of product circulation project system in poor areas of Hunan province.
