Our university Won the Honorary Title of ”Civilized Colleges and Universities in Hunan Province”

Recently, the Education Committee of Hunan Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Department of Education issued the Notice on the Result of Identifying Hunan Provincial Civilized Colleges and Universities of 2016 (Hunan Education Commission [2017] No. 5), in which our university was identified as "Civilized University of Hunan Province".
Since the start of the construction of provincial civilized universities, according to the requirements of the Notice on Revising and Issuing the Identification Practice of Hunan Civilized Colleges and Universities and on Standards of Constructing Hunan Civilized Colleges and Universities (Hunan Teaching Committee [2015] 4), our university has strengthened its unified leadership on the construction of provincial civilized colleges and universities, and developed HNUC’s Implementation Plan of Building Hunan Provincial Civilized Colleges and Universities based on its real situation. With its focus on the strategy of “Three Promotions” and “Two First-rates”, it has persisted in achieving “Five ones”, i.e. targeting one objective: educate people with culture so as to build a civilized university; running through one main line: take education as the foundation, and persist in cultivating people with morality; consolidating one foundation: drive with the Party construction, and gather the power of the whole school; starting from one point: construct a beautiful campus based on the principle of green development; forming one mechanism: formulate regulations and system to secure the construction achievements, which made great changes to teachers’ and students’ mental outlook and school environment, and created a good vibe for the development and reform of various undertakings of the University. In mid-December 2016, the evaluation panel of Education Committee of Hunan Provincial Party Committee came to our university to carry out an overall on-site assessment from five aspects including the leadership of Party Committee to create civilized colleges and universities, faculty ideological and political work, college students’ ideological and political education, campus cultural and environmental construction, and the level of scientific research. They spoke highly of our universitys’ efforts in creating a civilized university, and fully affirmed the construction achievements.
Our university won the honorary title of “Hunan Provincial Civilized Colleges and Universities” because of the right leadership from our university’s Party Committee and the joint efforts of our teachers and students. Our university will take it as an opportunity to continuously consolidate and expand the achievements in construction, and strive to create a provincial civilized unit.

To all general colleges and universities,
According to the Notice on the Identification of Hunan Provincial Civilized Colleges and Universities 2016 (Notice of Hunan Education Work Committee[2017] No.5), after schools’ application, experts’ field inspection, and the deliberation of the spiritual civilization construction and leading group meeting of Education Work Committee of Provincial Party Committee, it is agreed to recognize 13 colleges and universities as Hunan Provincial Civilized Colleges and Universities, including Hunan Normal University, Xiangtan University, Hunan University of Commerce, Huaihua University, Hunan University of Science and Engineering, Hunan College for Preschool Education, Changsha Environmental Protection College, Hunan College of Information, Hunan Vocational College of Commerce, Hunan Chemical Vocational Technology College, Huaihua Vocational and Technical College, Changsha Vocational and Technical College, and Changsha Health Vocational College.
Wish the newly identified provincial colleges and universities could cherish the honor, make persistent efforts and achieve new progress. Wish all the colleges and university in Hunan Province could fully implement the instructions of the National Conference on Ideological and Political Work in Colleges and Universities, strengthen the efforts on constructing civilized colleges and universities, continuously improve the level of personnel training, make more contributions to cultivating qualified builders and reliable successors (they should be inter-disciplinary talents, both socialist-minded and professionally competent, and have both ability and political integrity) of socialism with Chinese characteristics and push ahead the initiative of strengthening our province with scientific education.
