41 Universities in Hunan Province Discussed the Education of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Together

On 7th January, the 2016 Annual Meeting of Specialized Committee of Teaching Management of Colleges and Universities in Hunan Province was held in Hunan University of Commerce. Vice-director of Hunan Provincial Education Department Ge Jianzhong, president of Hunan University of Commerce Chen Xiaohong, president of Specialized Committee of Teaching Management also vice-president of Xiangtan University Liao Yongan attended the meeting and made a speech. 41 representatives from University of National Defense and Science, Central South University, Hunan University and other universities gathered together and carried out a deep discussion on the topic “To reform personnel training modes, deepen the education of innovation and entrepreneurship”.
President Chen Xiaohong made a welcome speech at the meeting. She introduced that in recent years Hunan University of Commerce insisted on developing profound quality, enhancing industry-academy cooperation and cultivating innovation and enterprising talents, etc.
Ge Jianzhong reviewed the achieved progress in terms of deepening educational reform of innovation and entrepreneurship of universities in Hunan Province for the past one year in his speech. And he pointed out that teaching in higher education institutions is the central task; personnel’s training is the basic task in universities; above both are the substantive characteristics which universities differ from other institutions. In addition, he hoped that universities in our province could take personnel training as the basic task, fully implement teaching as the central position; insist on taking educational reform of innovation and entrepreneurship as point of penetration, strengthening transformation and construction of education; insist on taking teaching evaluation as means in order to ensure and improve teaching qualities. Universities should do solid work, strive for best and make contributions to economic transformation and upgrade in order to build rich, happy, beautiful and new Hunan Province.
Liao Yongan introduced the main work of Specialized Committee in the past one year, and he pointed out that universities should work hard to build “first-class undergraduate teaching”, fortify teaching foundations and improve personnel training qualities facing new task like “reform of the entrance exam” and “double first-class construction”.
Vice-president Liu Guoquan from Hunan University of Commerce introduced the experiences and achievements HNUC got in terms of bringing commercial advantages into full play in order to cultivate innovation and enterprising talents. Vice-Editor in Chief Lin Jinan of Higher Education Press made a report on the innovation and practice of digital courses.
Vice-director of Xiangjiang New District in Hunan Province, Mr. Liu Zhongjie introduced the main experiences which Xiangjiang New District used to build national demonstration base of innovation and entrepreneurship. He suggested that universities should set up a sense of opening, and innovate thinking, and strengthen contacts with local governments and industries in order to better serve local economic and social development.
Professor Jiang Kai from Peking University combined frontier trends of world first-class universities and shared his perspectives concerning how universities cope with the relationship between teaching and scientific research.
At the meeting, representatives from Hunan University, Hunan Normal University, Xiangtan University, Nanhua University, Hunan University of Technology, Hunan Institute of Science and Technology, Changsha University and Hunan College for Preschool Education and other universities combined with their own reality and carried out a deep discussion on the topic “To reform personnel training codes, build platforms of innovation and entrepreneurship”.
This annual meeting was held by Hunan Provincial Education Department, undertaken by Hunan University of Commerce, more than 300 people from Provincial Education Department and working personnel engaging in teaching management from universities in Hunan Province attended the meeting.
