"An educated gentleman cannot but be resolute and broad-minded, for he has taken up a heavy responsibility and a long course". President Chen Xiaohong required all affiliated colleges to enhance the sense of crisis, build the consciousness of assuming responsibility, further complete the scientific research, and speed up promoting the construction of "Double First-rate" in the scientific research working conference. On the afternoon of October 11, the university held 2016 scientific research working conference, and president Chen Xiaohong, vice-president Wang Minggao, dean of all affiliated colleges, vice scientific research president and scientific research officers, and scientific research heads of functional departments attended it, which was presided over by the vice-president Wang Minggao.
Ouyang Zisheng, the chief of Scientific Research Department, made the explanation about the relevant issues about the 2016 national-level project proposal approval, 2017 national-level project application of all affiliated colleges, special scientific research assessment indicators and tasks completion of teaching units, scientific research achievements and other disciplines and scientific researches of our university, and hoped that all affiliated colleges could complete the scientific research task as soon as possible.
Zhou Xiancheng, the dean of Graduate School, made the explanation about the authorization and audit measures for doctor and master degree, relevant requirements for applying for new doctor's degree conferring units and degree programs and application indicators, and application for new doctor's degree authorization units of our university. The management science and engineering of our university has obtained the master degree conferring right, with formal admission in 2017. Up till now, our university has owned 4 first-level discipline degree programs and 2 professional master degree programs.
Vice-president Wang Minggao pointed out in the speech that our university has made the efficient and supporting scientific research policy for giving the biggest support to the scientific research, and all affiliated colleges shall expand the horizon and pattern, improve the scientific research indicator requirements, complete the scientific research application materials carefully, and keep the sprint, making a little contribution to the target of "three improvements".
President Chen Xiaohong made the speech in the scientific research working conference. She said: scientific research, like the long-distance running, will encounter the limit, but only break through the limit can we reach a new height. She also made the deployment of the scientific research, and put forward the specific requirements: First, all affiliated colleges shall enhance the sense of crisis and urgency, improve all scientific research indicators, assign the relevant scientific research tasks and analyze the project application carefully and obtain the scientific research achievements as soon as possible. Second, increase and speed up the application efforts of doctor, master program and key disciplines. Under the new normal, the state authorities proposed a more explicit indicator system and stricter requirements for the application for it. Everyone shall complete the construction of master program and strive for adding a new one, and obtain the influential achievements through the construction of key disciplines and think tank, laying the solid foundation for striving for the doctor conferring unit. Third, firmly establish the consciousness of assuming responsibility, and speed up promoting the construction of "Double First-rate". All academic leaders shall give play to the role of talent stocks, introduce excellent scientific research talents, establish the scientific research platform, build the university into a regional first-rate university in finance and economics with high level and distinctive characteristics, and realize the goal of "three improvements".
