Our School Held Founding Conference of the Higher Education Research Institute

On the afternoon of May 10, the Founding Conference of the Higher Education Research Institute was held in Meeting Room 401 of Second Office Building. Vice president and director of the Higher Education Research Institute Liu Guoquan and deputy director of Hunan Research Institute of Education Li Changping attended the conference. Director of the Institute of Higher Education Liu Derong was in charge of presiding.

During the Founding Conference,vice president Liu Guoquan elaborated on what the Higher Education Research Institute should do and how to do, defined major tasks and development targets, providing a direction for the development of the Institute of Higher Education. Vice President of Hunan  Research Institute of Education Li Changping made an special lecture on  Hot Issues in Current Research of Hgiher Education, in which he talked about some hot issues of higher education on the  reform and transformation of local undergraduate universities, supply-side reform in education, education’s informatization, taking all things into consideration in promoting first-class  universities and disciplines in the world, promoting mass entrepreneurship and pushing the public to innovation,etc.. He also gave insights into how to research and deal with these issues. All what he did has a significant implication for our school’s transformation and its development of education and scientific research.

The Higher Education Research Center of Hunan University of Commerce is a school research institution approved by our school which aims to improve the quality of our school’s education and scientific research to a higher level and serves the reform of our school by pinpointing direction for disciplines, building good research teams, lifting research level and giving research more characteristics. Vice president Liu Guoquan serves the director to the center which, affiliated to Higher Education Research Institute, has three divisions, respectively, Division of Higher Education and Industry Development, Division of Higher Education and Regional Economic Development, Division of Institute Research.(report by Shen Yang, photo by Chen Luming)
