Activities Held by Trade Union to Celebrate Women's Day

In order to celebrate the International Women's Day and improve the physical and mental health of female faculty, the School's Trade Union organized a special topic lecture on female health knowledge, and held a rope skipping game.

On March 3rd, we invited Dr Zhao Qun from the Health Management Center of the Third Xiangya Hospital of Central South University to give a special topic lecture on female health knowledge. In her lecture, Ms. Zhao pointed out that "Breast Cancer" and "Cervical Cancer" have gained a high incidence in China currently. She made a detailed introduction to the clinical symptoms, causes, and precautionary measures of these two kinds of cancer and other common gynecological diseases. In addition, the importance of screening for these two kinds of cancer were stressed She indicated that women should take charge of their own health by taking early precautionary measures, early detection and early treatment. She stressed that women need care and beauty, but health is far more important. Because only those women who have a good health can own a perfect life.

This well-received lecture, with its vivid language, visual pictures and fresh examples, delivered knowledge about female health and enhanced the health care consciousness of female faculty. After the lecture, Dr. Zhao Qun also provided individual counseling and gave detailed answers to the issues raised by female faculty.

On March 8, we held a rope skipping game at the Lingnan stadium. Mr. Xia Jichun, Deputy Secretary of the School Party, showed his presence, and expressed blessings on behalf of the School to the female faculty and cheered the players on.

26 branch trade unions of the School, 10 people of each took part in the 3-minute game. The branch with the largest number of people passing through the rope would be the winner. The enthusiasm was running high even before the game. Players went to the stadium to practice, and many male teachers were present to cheer the female players on. At the sound of referee's whistle, players rushed to the rope. They were highly concentrated, eyes on the player ahead, waiting for their turn to skip. Good cooperation and teamwork could be seen flowing in the game.

The Library Branch won the championship, followed by the Second Administrative Office Branch and the School of Foreign Languages Branch. The School of Accounting Branch, the Third Administrative Office Branch, School of International Education Branch, Beijin College Branch, and the School of Art & Design Branch won the third prize.
