Secretary Tang Yayang along with Other School Personnel Visited Our School Alumni and Alumnae in Changsha

On the afternoon of April 9th, school Party secretary Tang Yayang, vice secretary Xia Jichun and other personnel from Party Affair Office and Alumni Office went to our school’s alumni association and paid a visit to the alumni and alumnae. A total of over 20 representatives from the association, old and young, attended the meeting, including Mr. Huang Xingyao (president of the association), Mr. Zhou Xinchao, Mr. Zhu Xinmin and Mr. Yang Zhenghua (honorary presidents of the association), Mrs. Chen Lifang (vice president of the association) and some members of association board. The meeting was presided over by Mr. Chen Qian, vice president and secretary-general of the association.
Mr. Huang Xingyao extended warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to leaders and teachers from Hunan University of Commerce. He then made a summary report of the working situation of the association and of the thinking of next stage work, and called on alumni and alumnae to make new contribution with practical efforts to repay their Alma Mater in its key period of gaining upgrading and development.
Those alumni and alumnae in presence said that they are grateful for secretary Tang Yayang for his visit in the beginning of his term. All alumni and alumnae reported the situation of their work and career development, and proposed constructive ideas and suggestions for Alma Mater’s “three upgradings”, talent cultivation, specialty and curricula, practical teaching, education on innovation and startup, graduate employment, university-corporation cooperation, platform building of the alumni association and integration and utility of alumni resources, expressing that they are willing to make efforts to facilitate school’s progress and construction.
Vice secretary Xia Jichun then highly praised the work done by the association, saying that the association should firmly establish the concept of serving the alumni and alumnae, give full play to our school’s advantageof intellectual resources, build advisory service team with alumni entrepreneurs and experts, mega data center, set up friendship school- corporation organization, create new stage for alumni service, communication and cooperation, with the aim of provide practical help for the career development of those alumni and alumnae.

During the meeting, Mr. Tang Yayang expressed his gratitude to these alumni and alumnae for their coming considering their tight schedule, for their constructive advices and suggestions regarding the school’s development and their long-term care and support for the school. Mr. Tang highly praised their work, saying that he is glad to see such excellent achievements they have made in their positions and that he is determined to work in Hunan University of Commerce and fully confident of the school’s prospect. He also pointed out that alumni are the perquisite of the schools’ existence, the important carriers of the culture in their own Alma Maters, the supporters of the schoolwork, and the propagandists of the schools’ images. The alumni association forms a platform that serves both the alumni and alumnae and the school for the exchange, friendly contacts, and non-profit development among alumni and alumnae. To make a good job in alumni-related work, it is a must to take the concepts in mind: service first, foundation as the importance, cooperation and win-win results with all members going through the whole process. Tang made an introduction of the school’s development objectives and good aspirations as well as the difficulties and challenges existing in the current situation, hoping that Changsha Alumni Association can take the lead to integrate resources and to combine the school development with alumni’s careers, so that the alumni can provide more help and support to the school construction.Mr. Tang also warmly invited these alumni and alumnae, if possible, to go back to Alma Mater for a visit.
The meeting was ended by sincere wishes and group photo. All of the attendees send their sincere wishes to HUC for a brighter future.
