Serial Activities for “World Reading Day” Held by Our Library

For the coming of “World Reading Day” and the building of scholarly campus, our school library held serial activities themed as “Stepping into the Library and sharing reading” on Yingcai Square which is located before the library on April 22nd.
This event was characterized by distinct theme and various activities. The whole process included seven topics, ranging from a large-scale gift books presenting activity, gift for attention, cancellation of overdue fine and fees for library card registration, the initiative ceremony for the book delivery service, awarding activities among those in the ranking list, on-the-spot commercials of digital resource providers, to prize-giving quiz.
The event attracted approximately 800 readers, who signed their names on the painting wall to show their support for the “World Reading Day”. A total of 15 teachers and students won the honorary titles of “Reading star”, over 200 readers got books free of charge, and near 100 readers are exempted from paying overdue fine and fees for borrowing books from the library.
The event enhanced our teachers and students’ understanding of the “World Reading Day”, inspired their passion for reading, showed the charm of reading, and even creates a more scholarly campus atmosphere. (Written by Qing Xiaoqiong; Photographed by Li Boou)
