Chen Xiaohong Made Keynote Speech in the 18th Conference of Disciplinary Building Committee

On November 21st, the 18th Conference of Disciplinary Building Committee of Higher Financial & Economic Education Branch of China Higher Education Association was held in Nanning, capital city of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Huang Baoyin, deputy director of Academic Degree Commission of the State Council as well as deputy director-general of Department of Academic Degree Management and Graduate Education of Ministry of Education, attended this conference. President Chen Xiaohong, as well as Professor Zhong Yang, dean of Biological College of Fudan University, was invited to make the keynote speeches for the conference. Over 120 experts and scholars, school leaders, and department directors from Central University of Finance and Economics, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law and other more than 40 universities attended the conference. Professor Yang Hong and dean of graduate school Zhou Xiaocheng from our school also attended this conference at invitation.
President Chen Xiaohong made her keynote speech “Higher Financial & Economic Education and HNUC Strategic Thinking on Development during the 13thFive-year Plan.” Her report could be divided into three parts. This first part was the analysis of the general situations from the perspectives of new moralities of economic development, social development, national strategies and the overall scheme of “two first-class” construction. The second part was the analysis of development trend for financial & economic universities on the basis of characteristics financial & economic education and the financial & economic education development in new situation. The third part was a brief introduction of HNUC strategic thinking on our reform and development. Chen’s speech, by way of extensive citing and quoting, covers not only the strategic thinking in macro-level, but also the countering strategies in micro-level, obtaining unanimous applause from the present delegates.
Conference of Disciplinary Building Committee of Higher Financial & Economic Education Branch of China Higher Education Association will be held twice a year. It is the summit conference for disciplinary building and graduate education in China’s financial & economic universities, which will greatly facilitate information communication and exchanges among financial & economic universities, press ahead with the disciplinary building and development, and improve the talent education quality in financial & economic universities.
