President of Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology visits HNUC

On Nov. 5 morning, Tony Gray, the president of Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology, and his delegation were warmly welcomed by Party secretary of the school- Prof. Wang Hanqing during their visit to our university. The two held a cordial and friendly talk.

Wang briefed the development of the university and introduced the "Three Upgrades and Three Prosperities" project. Promoting the exchanges and cooperation between universities and enhancing the school's international influence has become a necessity to build high-level university specializing financial and commercial majors, he added. Formulating and promulgating polices to support better overseas study and exchanges for school faculty and students, the school is in open arms to university-level exchanges and cooperation of home and abroad, Wang said.

President Tony Gray highly appreciated the hospitality and praised the purposeful endeavor the school has made. Mr. Gray introduced the idea and situation of running Nelson, expecting the two can continuously strengthen cooperation and seek common ground in talent cultivation, teacher exchanges and scientific research.

The both sides also exchanged ideas on strengthening featuring talent cultivation and laid solid foundation for future cooperation. Directors from the Office of International Exchanges and Cooperation as well as directors from the Office of the Party Affairs and Governance also attended the visit. (Xie Zhiyuan)
