China Soong Ching Ling Foundation ”Starbucks Youth Leadership” Project Coordinating Meeting Held in School

On Oct 29th afternoon, the Coordinating meeting of "Starbucks Youth Leadership" of China Soong Ching Ling Foundation was held in our school. Tang Jiuhong, the minister of the financial department of the foundation, attended the meeting with his delegation, which was hosted by vice president Zeng Fuqiu. Wang Hanqing, the secretary of school CPC party committee, Tang Fanghua, the vice president of Hunan City University, deputy secretary of Youth League Committee of both universities and director of the Student Affair Office attended the meeting.
On behalf of the school CPC party committee and administrative authorities, Wang Hanqing showed his warm welcome to the delegation. Wang added that Tang, as a badminton world champion wining honor for his motherland, is a pride of his own folk men. He also showed his appreciation to the organization for listing our university as one of ten cooperative universities of 2015 "Starbucks Youth Leadership" Project.
Wang briefed the development, talent cultivation and disciplinary features of our school and added that, during the past few years, the school has cultivated a lot of talents that are compatible to the country and regional economical and social development. Now, facing the regional economical and social requirements for developing as well as the purpose of building high-level university of commerce, the school proposed the outlook of "Three Upgrades and Three Prosperity". The strategic purpose highly condensed the will of people, inspired the spirit and facilitated a sound and rapid development through laying foundation, building image and deepening reform.
Tang Fanghua, the vice president of Hunan City University, gave a detailed introduction to the school's course of change and development, disciplinary features, faculty situation, teaching reform and the admission and employment condition.
During the meeting, minister Tang Jiuhong showed gratitude to the support from the two schools and briefly introduced the development and history, the task and motto, the institution setting and the project condition of the foundation. Zhao Bin, the consultant of Public Service Division of Soong Ching Ling Foundation gave a detailed introduction to the working arrangement of "Starbucks Youth Leadership" project, the executing team, cultivating and management, media propaganda, project assessment, etc. He explained, the students will not only be able to accumulate personal skills but also get face to face guidance from Starbucks senior managers through the project.
Vice president Zeng of our university made a closing speech in which he highly praised the public service project conducted by the "International Friendship, Cross-strait Exchanges and Philanthropy and Charity" themed foundation. He also showed his confidence in implementing the project and expectation to comprehensive support and expanded cooperation in the future.
It is reported that the Starbucks Youth Leadership Project of Chinese Soong Ching Ling Foundation is jointly founded by Soong Ching Ling Foundation and Starbucks in June 2014, aiming to developing, cultivating and promoting Chinese college students' career ability, social conscience and ability to cooperate. The 3-year project is planning to cooperate with 10 colleges and universities per year and cultivate 500 undergraduates through leadership courses, public service practice and enterprise internship.
