Provincial CPPCC Vice Chairman Ge Hongyuan Guided Collaborative Innovation of Anti-corruption Work

On the afternoon of July 10th, Hunan Provincial CPPCC vice chairman Ge Hongyuan arrived in school’s Collaborative Innovation Center of Anti-corruption for work guidance and a forum. The school’s general secretary of Party committee Wang Hanqing and President Chen Xiaohong presented at the forum and delivered their speeches. The center’s chief expert Professor Wang Minggao, director of Hunan Provincial Research Base of Anti-corruption Studies Chen Liying and all members of the center attended the forum. Professor Chen Liying presided over the forum.

President Chen Xiaohong extended a warm welcome and a sincere gratitude to Ge Hongyuan for his presence and guidance to our school and for his concern and support to both the school and the anti-corruption research work. President Chen then made a brief introduction to the school’s development situation, especially our progressing “Three Upgrades and Three Prosperities” development goal, emphasizing the significance of the collaborative innovation of anti-corruption work. She also pointed out the center building will play an important role in facilitating Hunan and even China’s multi-type and multi-level scientific research, talents cultivation and decision consultant in anti-corruption field.

The center’s chief expert Professor Wang Minggao reported the relevant building situation as well as other situations, such as the major progresses of the collaborative innovation undertakings, the implementation of team building and personnel system reform, reform of the brain cultivation mechanism, creative resources integration and the cooperation and exchanges with other institutions at home and abroad. Professor Wang Minggao expressed that, despite of some achievements, the center still need to make a painstaking effort to become the world leading institution; and the center is always aspiring for leaders’ support for the center’s development.

Later, president Chen Xiaohong awarded vice chairman GeHongyuan the contract for being the special adviser of the anti-corruption center.

After the contract awarding ceremony, Ge Honghui, along with Wang Hanqing, Chen Xiaohong, Wang Minggao and Chen Liying, held the inauguration ceremony for the Collaborative Innovation Center of Anti-corruption. Later, they visited the working offices of the center and watched the launching operation demonstration of the center’s bilingual website.

Vice chairman Ge Hongyuan fully confirmed our school’s results in Hunan anti-corruption building research and services for national anti-corruption building, and highly praised a group of experts and scholars led by Professor Wang Minggao who are devoting themselves to anti-corruption building research for their spirits of being fearless to dangers and hardships and of being bold in innovating. Ge Hongyuan pointed out the center could follow closely with the major anti-corruption decisions made by CPC Central Committee and the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, extensively study the issues in building a ethnical party and a clean government, and make a great contribution to promote anti-corruption management and anti-corruption theories and discipline development. In words of Ge, it is a major concern for all nations in the world to facilitate anti-corruption work, the important strategic needs of our party and state building and the inevitable demand of the Chinese dream. The establishment of the Collaborative Innovation Center of Anti-corruption is the responding move of opening up the anti-corruption road with Chinese characteristic. Ge also adopted the current anti-corruption building development to analyze the major corruption cases in Chenzhou city and Hengyang city. He said that problems still exist in the current anti-corruption practices, such as the ideological backwardness, the lack of juristic preparation and imbalanced authority check, and it still needs the common efforts of experts in present to help form the situation of “daring not to, cannot and do not want to corrupt.” In the end of his speech, he sent words to all members of the center that we should conform to the standard of meeting the national badly demands and striving to be the world-class institution, base on our own country and expand views to the international community as well as further condense our distinct features and gather our team, in order to provide strong brain support for the anti-corruption building of our party and government and to actively press ahead with the sound social atmosphere of clean officials, government and politics.

In the end, Secretary Wang Hanqing made his concluding speech by saying that Ge Hongyuan is insightful and sharp-sighted on a higher standing of the anti-corruption work; that, with a view of the current anti-corruption development, he explained the importance of anti-corruption with authentic cases, pointed out several key issues that are worth researching and considering for us academic circles with his practical experience gained from his working position, and charted our course in pursuing the building and development of the Collaborative Innovation Center of Anti-corruption. Wang Hanqing stressed, the building and development of the center constitute the essential part of our school’s “Three Upgrades and Three Prosperities,” and the research team led by Professor Wang Minggao has done a great amount of work, expanding our school’s influence in Hunan Province and even in China.

It has been reported that Hunan Provincial Collaborative Innovation Center of Anti-corruption was among the second group of the “2011 Collaborative Innovation Center” for universities in Hunan, which was confirmed by Hunan Provincial Department of Education and Department of Finance in September 2014. The center was set up with Hunan University of Commerce as the leading, and co-established by Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection, Provincial Department of Supervision, Provincial Bureau of Corruption Prevention, Provincial Academy of Social Science, Changsha Municipal Commission of Discipline, Changsha Municipal Department of Supervision, Liuyang Municipal Party Committee, Liuyang Municipal government, Breeze Magazine and other institutions. The center is a trinity collaborative innovation unit that is committed to promoting innovation ability of anti-corruption, fostering innovative talents as well as serving and guiding anti-corruption research.
