HNUC President’s Article Reported by Chinese Education Department Journal

Chinese Education Department Journal had recently reported HNUC president Chen Xiaohong’s article about speeding up compiling natural resources assets balance chart.

According to the central government’s policy, all local governments’ activities in relation to the natural resources management, such as landscape management practice and biodiversity conservation will be recorded and monitored. Any activities that are harmful to the environment will be held accountable.

To achieve this, Chen Xiaohong suggested in the report that the first step was to use a unified system, standards and platform and introduce a third party evaluation organization. Trial runs were necessary before the national application of the policy.

Chen also pointed out that in the long run, a comprehensive statistics system regarding the changes of natural resources assets shall be constructed to help build a more sustainable economic structure.
