April 17th, the 4th session of Lushan forum was held in the auditorium of Hunan University of Commerce (HNUC). Professor from Chinese Academy of Sciences Shi Yong gave a lecture on the topic of big data analysis and application.

　　Mr. Shi firstly generally introduced the definition and the history of big data, pointing out that big data would be one of the key strategic resources and a key driving force for innovation in future. 

　　Mr. Shi further explained the application of big data analysis in the fields of online commercial, search engine, statistical support for financial investment and city planning. “The impact will be profound and extensive. Every trade and every people will be affected by its power,” said Mr. Shi.  

　　Mr. Shi told the students in the auditorium that big-data related professions are likely to become the most wanted job in future.

　　At the end of the speech, Mr. Shi also pointed out some of the potential disruptive effects that the big data might bring about. 

　　“We should always pay attention to the possible risks such as disclosure of personal data and information overload.” said Shi during the talk.
