HUTB Holds a Work Conference for New Semester in Spring of 2023

On the morning of February 15, HUTB held a work conference for new semester in spring of 2023 in Chufeng Lecture Hall of the Economic Management Complex. The meeting was attended by Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee, Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory and CAE Academician, Huang Xin, Deputy Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee and President, Xiao Xiaoqin, Deputy Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee, and other chief leaders and members of the CPC Committee. Provincial and municipal, and deputies to the NPC, members of CPPCC, chairmen of democratic parties, all division-level cadres, all department-level cadres and directors of teaching and research sections participated in the meeting. The meeting was presided over by President Huang Xin.
On the first agenda of the meeting, all participants stood up and sang the national anthem. Subsequently, Deputy Secretary Xiao Xiaoqin read out the assessment results of secondary units in 2022. The chief leaders participating the meeing presented awards to the secondary units that obtained the "excellent" and "good" assessment results in 2022. The heads of relevant units are divided into two batches to receive awards. Warm applause sounded at the scene, congratulating the commended units.
Subsequently, the principal heads of secondary units took the stage in turn to submit the Responsibility Letter for Target Management Tasks of Secondary Units in 2023 and made their statements. Secretary Chen Xiaohong received the Responsibility Letter on behalf of the university and placed new hopes on the secondary units.
Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee, Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory and CAE Academician, delivered a speech entitled "Strive to create a dream together". She pointed out that in 2022, under the guidance of Xi Jinping's socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era and the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, and with the theme of “Establish Better Work Style, Change Study Style, Improve Quality and Seek Innovation”, the teachers and students of the university have accomplished a series of great events and happy events, tackled a series of difficult and urgent matters, promoted a series of good and practical things and achieved exciting results in running the university. The whole university glows with a new look of high spirits and entrepreneurship, showing a new atmosphere of being determined to be first-class and striving for the first place. The atmosphere of seizing every minute and pursuing excellence in the university is becoming increasingly strong, and the vigorous development of various undertakings is constantly highlighted. A good situation of realizing the strategic goal of "Three Advances and Three Highs" is taking shape.
Secretary Chen Xiaohong emphasized that this year is the first year of fully implementing the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, a crucial year of connecting the preceding with the following in implementing the 14th Five-Year Plan, a year of leap in university reform, and a decisive year to develop doctoral programs. She put forward the guiding ideology and general requirements this year, and based on the implementation of the spirit of the first CPC congress of the university, deployed the key tasks of the university in seven aspects in 2023: 1. Persistently arm the mind and guide practice with Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics and 20th CPC National Congress; 2. strive to make new achievements in the construction of “Guidance of CPC Building” project; 3. strive to make new achievements in the construction of the "Excelling in Competition" project; 4. strive to make new achievements in the construction of "Excellent Education" project; 5. strive to make new achievements in the construction of the "Innovation Peak" project; 6. strive to make new achievements in the construction of "Reform and Efficiency Improvement" project; 7. strive to make new achievements in the construction of "Happiness and Peace" project.
Secretary Chen Xiaohong put forward three requirements for implementing the annual work: First, further improve the standing position and clarify the direction. To build HUTB, our common home, we should show the backbone, ambition and responsibility to strive for the upper reaches and catch up with the first-class! We should achieve "three comparisons" and "four deepening" in our work. Second, further seize opportunities and accelerate development. We should continue to boldly try first in the building of "Digital Intelligence +" discipline and the training of digital economy talents, uphold the integration between “New engineering courses + new business courses + new liberal arts courses” and science courses, promote the full integration of teaching staff, scientific research, social services and platform system with the digital economy, and facilitate the all-round reform of digital economy talents training. 3. Pay close attention to the tasks and their implementation. It is not advisable to lie flat, and it is impossible to win by lying down. Starlight does not live up to those who are on the road, and rivers care for those who are paddling. We should work in the spirit of waiting for no time and seizing every minute, inspire the spiritual strength of CPC members, cadres, teachers and students in the whole university to innovate and work hard, and turn "construction drawings" into "real paintings", so that the seeds sown in spring can be turned into fruitful results of high-quality development!
Secretary Chen Xiaohong called on the CPC members, cadres and faculty of the whole university to continue to take the exam, relay race, and make unremitting efforts, concentrate on connotative development, focus on high-quality improvement, and continue to struggle in the hot land of endeavor, talent and happiness of HUTB, and strive to "create and do", seek more pioneering, revitalizing and leapfrogging, and achieve "decisive battle at the beginning, sprint at the beginning", work hard until there is no regret, struggle until there is no reservation, effectively promote the university to make new progress in all work, and realize the dreams of several generations of HUTB in the united struggle!
All the participants listened carefully to the speech by Secretary Chen Xiaohong, and all of them were rejoiced at the outstanding achievements made by the university in 2022, and were extremely excited about the bright development prospects in 2023, which further strengthened their confidence and determination to work together and climb the peak again under the strong leadership of the CPC HUTB Committee.
In his concluding speech, President Huang Xin pointed out that Secretary Chen Xiaohong comprehensively summarized the achievements of the university in 2022, carefully arranged and scientifically deployed the key works in 2023 from seven aspects, and put forward specific and clear requirements for conducting the current work. He asked all secondary CPC organizations and units to seriously study and convey the spirit of the speech by Secretary Chen Xiaohong after the meeting, deeply understand the spiritual essence of the speech, and combine the annual work points of the university, KPI objectives and tasks and the annual tasks of the schools to refine the work plan and earnestly implement it. He emphasized that today's meeting is aimed to deploy the work, and also for commending the advanced people and getting into the frame of mind for work. He expressed the hope that everyone will base themselves on their own jobs, pay close attention to the implementation of various tasks with a sense of urgency, and ensure the high-quality completion of all goals and tasks throughout the year.
