Good News | Team Led by Academician Chen Xiaohong Wins First Prize of Hunan Science and Technology Progress Award

On the morning of February 24, Hunan Science and Technology Innovation Awards Conference was held in Changsha. Mao Weiming, Deputy Secretary of Provincial CPC Committee and Governor, attended the conference and presented awards to the winners. 


Provincial leaders Li Dianxun and Zhou Haibing, Fu Aiguo, Political Commissar of National University of Defense Technology, Li Jiancheng, President of Central South University, Academicians Zou Xuexiao, Chen Xiaohong, Liu Shaojun, Jiang Tao, Bai Lianyang, Wu Yiqiang and Shan Yang of Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Qu Hai, Secretary General of Provincial Government attended the conference. At the conference, the achievement "Key Technologies and Applications of Collaborative Digital Intelligence Management of Energy and Environment under the Goal of Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality” jointly completed by Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee, Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory and CAE Academician, and Hu Chunhua, Xu Xuesong, Cao Wenzhi, Wang Yangjie, Hu Dongbin, Xu Xuanhua, Li Dayuan, Zhou Yanju, Li Xiangqi, Liang Wei and other team members won the first prize of Hunan Science and Technology Progress Award. 


This achievement focuses on the theoretical methods, key technologies and platform software of the collaborative digital intelligence management of energy and environment, and unites HUTB, Central South University, State Grid Hunan Electric Power Company Limited and other units in a collaborative innovation model to coordinate the development of power energy and ecological environment. With new generation information technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence and cloud computing, the collaborative digital intelligence management system of energy and environment is innovatively established, breaking through the collaborative digital intelligence management and control, intelligent mining and prediction of spatio-temporal big data, and integration of energy and environment for the three major goals of "safety, environmental protection and economy" of power supply. According to the appraisal by academicians and experts, "the overall technology has reached the international leading level", which has enhanced China's international competitiveness in this field. 


The results of the project have been published in well-known journals at home and abroad such as Journal of Management World, Journal of Management Science in China, Journal of Business Ethics and Omega, and won 12 national invention patents; the average annual emission reduction of pollutants such as CO2, SO2, NOx and soot is outstanding, with remarkable economic and social benefits; the relevant policy recommendations were adopted by relevant ministries and commissions, and were instructed by the leaders of CPC and state. It has made positive contributions to ensuring energy and environmental security and promoting the realization of the "Goal of Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality".

This award has inspired the morale of teachers and researchers in the university, and stimulated everyone's enthusiasm for actively participating in S&T innovation and transformation of achievements. In recent years, the university has attached great importance to the cultivation of high-quality S&T achievements and awards, continuously strengthened top-level design, formulated supporting policies, improved management and service level, improved the quality of S&T achievements, promoted the transformation and application of S&T achievements, continuously consolidated the development of advantageous scientific research fields, strengthened the construction of talent team and scientific research team, and promoted continuous breakthroughs in S&T achievements in important fields.
