HUTB Holds the Launching Ceremony of "Carrying Forward Lei Feng's Spirit and Establishing a Civilized New Wind" Volunteer Service Activities to Learn

On the afternoon of February 28, the Launching Ceremony of "Carrying Forward Lei Feng's Spirit and Establishing a Civilized New Wind" Volunteer Service Activities to Learn from Lei Feng and Labor Practice Education Activities was held in Qunxing Square. The ceremony was attended by Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee, Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory and CAE Academician, Xiao Xiaoqin, Deputy Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee and Gan Dejian, Vice President of HUTB. Heads of relevant functional departments, teachers of secondary schools and student volunteer representatives attended the ceremony.
Secretary Chen Xiaohong and the leaders attending the ceremony visited the art exhibition area of this event, listened to the detailed introduction of various volunteer service projects, highly praised the hard work of young volunteers, and signed on the volunteer service signature wall as a souvenir.
Wang Jinjing from the Youth Volunteers Association spoke as a volunteer representative, saying that it is of great significance to participate in volunteer activities. The little services provided by volunteers will inevitably converge into a trickle and integrate into the great river that nourish the society. The young volunteers of HUTB will keep their hearts unchanged, be down-to-earth, convey love and warm others, and continue to maintain the spiritual quality of "selfless dedication and helpfulness". Lei Xiaodong, an outstanding young volunteer, led all the volunteers to take the oath. The powerful vows echoed for a long time, and the forceful promises were exciting, expressing confidence and determination to carry forward Lei Feng's spirit.
On behalf of CPC HUTB Committee, Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee, Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory and CAE Academician, sent sincere greetings and lofty respects to teachers and students who are active in volunteer service. She pointed out that the series of activities to learn from Lei Feng and labor practice education in 2023 were launched in order to further implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions, write Lei Feng's story in the new era with volunteer service, and create the most beautiful youth background with labor practice. She put forward three hopes for the majority of young volunteers: first, draw the power of faith from Lei Feng's firm belief in loving CPC and motherland; second, draw the power of action from Lei Feng's dedication to serving the people and helping others; third, draw the strength of forging ahead from Lei Feng's fighting spirit of forging ahead and striving for self-improvement. She stressed that it is necessary to organically combine learning from Lei Feng with labor practice education and civilization literacy education, actively select trees to publicize advanced models, polish the brand of "Learning from Lei Feng in Lei Feng's Hometown", and set an example for the whole society to learn from Lei Feng and set a new style.
Secretary Chen Xiaohong announced that HUTB officially launched the volunteer service and labor practice education activities of learning Lei Feng in 2023, and awarded the flag to the Student Youth Volunteers Association.
At the end of the activity, all the teachers and students sang the song Learn from Lei Feng's Good Example, which was exciting and brought together full of youthful positive energy.
After the launching ceremony, volunteers went to the responsible areas of each school to carry out labor practice. In recent years, the activities of learning Lei Feng in the university have been vigorously carried out, and the majority of young students have actively participated in various voluntary activities such as helping the elderly and the disabled, volunteering for education, environmental protection, public welfare, epidemic prevention and control, etc., making positive contributions to promoting the construction of campus civilization and creating a rich culture, practicing the "Lei Feng Spirit" with practical actions, and letting the flaming flag of "Lei Feng Spirit" fly high in HUTB.
