They conducted an inspection of the campus development work carried out during the summer vacation, unveiled plaques for the newly completed Zhuiguang Building, Jinsuo Lake, and Cuiwei Park, and held groundbreaking ceremonies for the upcoming Zhuimeng Student Apartments and Hongya Student Apartments.

The Chief Leaders first visited the newly completed Zhuiguang Building(Teaching Complex) and held a plaque unveiling ceremony. Zhuiguang Building carries the theme "Chasing the Light All the Way, Growing Toward the Sun." It features a vibrant red and yellow color scheme, exquisite design, and simple and bright interior decoration. The building houses offices, meeting rooms, a multifunctional lecture hall, multimedia classrooms, and the Caihong Academy, providing a new space for work and study for the faculty and students on the North Campus. The Caihong Academy is primarily designed with green as the main color, giving a refreshing and natural feeling, a kin to a breath of fresh air. It is the university's twelfth modern academy.

Following the unveiling ceremony of the Zhuiguang Building, the Chief Leaders proceeded to the eastern side of the North Campus to unveil the plaque for the newly completed Jinsuo Lake. Jinsuo Lake runs from north to south and features clear water, the gentle sound of flowing water, and small bridges spanning its surface. It is surrounded by lush trees and intersecting pathways, making it a perfect place for students and faculty to relax and study after classes. The name "Jinsuo Lake" is derived from the song "Golden Shuttle and Silver Shuttle," which serves as a reminder for students and faculty to cherish their time and strive for excellence. Walking along the tree-lined path by Jinsuo Lake, the Chief Leaders then arrived at the newly renovated second floor of the Jinmi Dining Hall located by the lake. The dining hall is bright, spacious, well-organized, and has been entirely transformed. Here, students and faculty can enjoy delicious meals while admiring the beautiful lakeside scenery, creating a wonderful dining experience. After inspecting the dining hall, the Chief Leaders conducted an inspection of the renovation project for Student Dormitory Building 7.

Located to the east of the Jinmi Dining Hall is the site for the newly constructed Zhuimeng Student Apartments. Here, the Chief Leaders held a brief groundbreaking ceremony, jointly witnessing this exciting moment with representatives of students and faculty. In the near future, a 12-story modern building with an approximate floor area of 24,000 square meters will rise here, providing students with a top-notch learning and living environment. To the south of the North Campus, following a period of construction and renovation over the break, the once-small forest has transformed into a serene and naturally oxygen-rich park called "Cuiwei Park." Here, the air is fresh and clean. The Chief Leaders held a brief unveiling ceremony, encouraging students and faculty to spend more time in nature and cultivate their character.

After concluding their thorough inspection of the North Campus, the Chief Leaders traveled to the South Campus. At the Xiande Apartment Park, they held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Hongya Student Apartments. The Hongya Student Apartments is a 14-story building with a floor area of approximately 24,000 square meters. Once completed next year, it will become another beautiful addition to the university's landscape. The Chief Leaders also inspected various renovation and improvement projects, including the renovation of Classroom 103 (Horseshoe-shaped Classroom) in the Lingnan Creative Media Center, the replacement of the basketball court flooring at the Lingnan Basketball Court, the installation of artistic long benches, the quality improvement of the Chufengxuan Dining Hall, the quality improvement of the Chufeng Academy's east fountain pool, the refurbishment of the second-floor hall in the Xiangjiang Building, and the renovation of meeting rooms. They highly commended the summer campus construction work at the South Campus.

During the inspection, Secretary Chen Xiaohong, on behalf of the CPC HUTB Committee, expressed sincere respect and heartfelt gratitude to all the staff and construction personnel. She pointed out that during the summer vacation, the relevant functional departments and construction units, despite the scorching heat, worked tirelessly and actively implemented the concept of "Dual Main Campuses." They completed the construction of various projects on time, with high quality and quantity. They addressed the real needs and aspirations of teachers and students, demonstrating the university's proactive, tenacious, and upward spirit. In recent years, the campus infrastructure has been vigorously strengthened, and the campus appearance undergoes minor changes each year, significant changes every three years, major transformations every five years, and substantial upgrades every ten years. This has led to a significant increase in the sense of achievement and happiness among teachers, students, and staff, gathering tremendous strength for the university's high-quality development.

Secretary Chen Xiaohong emphasized that in the next steps, it's essential to continue refining supporting facilities, make the best use of all types of newly constructed teaching spaces and facility equipment, pay attention to details, strive for excellence, produce high-quality results, and establish benchmarks. The goal is to welcome the arrival of new students with a renewed, more beautiful, and better campus environment. (Written by Zhang Gaoyang and Photo by Yang Lei and TuHua)
