2023-09-09

The cool autumn breeze welcomes students from all directions, while the fragrance of osmanthus blooms heralds a wonderful tomorrow. From September 7 to 8, the campus was bustling with people, filled with an atmosphere of enthusiasm and joy. The university officially welcomed 7,120 new undergraduate and graduate students of class 2023. The new students embarked on their learning journey at HUTB with fresh faces.

To ensure a comprehensive and successful orientation for the new students, the university established thirteen working groups, ensuring that all aspects of the orientation process were well-connected and properly supported. These teams worked together to provide meticulous and thoughtful services for the new students.

On the morning of September 7, the new students arrived at the campus one by one. They were filled with anticipation, joy, and confidence as they entered the beautiful campus. What greeted their eyes were posters and banners that read, "Welcome to HUTB, Class of 2023," surrounded by blooming flowers. Along the pathways, colorful flags were waving, and banners with well-wishes were displayed everywhere. Joyful red arches celebrated the arrival of the new students, and they followed the signs to their destinations. Faculty and students held up banners and placards, warmly welcoming the arrival of the new students and their parents, patiently answering their questions. The security personnel, undeterred by the scorching sun, diligently stood their posts, providing guidance and directing traffic. Student officers and young volunteers could be seen moving around the campus, offering guidance and assistance to the new students and their parents, helping with the transport of belongings. Inside the student dormitories, the dormitory staff patiently processed check-in procedures for the new students, explained dormitory life details, and distributed essential living materials. To facilitate the convenience of new students and their parents coming from outside the city, the university also set up a reception point at the Moon Island West Station of Metro Line 4. They arranged buses to welcome new students and their parents to the campus, and on campus, they provided shuttle vehicles to transport the new students to the student dormitories.

At the new student registration sites on both the North and South Campuses, school volunteers provided meticulous services to new students, including registration consultations, document reviews, material distribution, and guidance through the processes. Each school's welcome booth was decorated with colorful welcome banners and creative posters, and they offered unique college-themed cultural products to new students. There was also an astronaut model displaying circuit devices designed by students with welcoming messages. Teachers provided detailed information about the schools, program specialties, admission instructions, and conducted educational sessions on preventing telecom fraud and other types of scams. The university also established a green channel for new students and consultation points for financial aid policies. They provided guidance on financial aid policies to students from economically disadvantaged families, distributed the university's consolation funds, and helped these students alleviate financial concerns to better adapt to university life. In the scorching September sun, the welcoming sites in Changsha offered drinking water stations, temporary rest areas, and medical service points to provide relief to new students and their parents.

Across the campus, various creatively designed signs, cultural background walls, and large welcoming spray paintings are scattered throughout, providing beautiful settings. The new students of class 2023 are filled with anticipation for the future and wear happy smiles on their faces as they capture the wonderful moments of their first day at the university with their parents, fellow students, and teachers. These moments will become important memories in their lives.

It is reported that the university has a total of 7,120 new students in the class 2023, including 710 postgraduates and 6,410 undergraduates, who have registered and started their studies at both the North and South Campuses. This year's new student orientation work was not only well-organized, efficient, and effectively implemented, but it was also filled with a warm, joyful, and pleasant atmosphere. Students from all over the country have gathered at HUTB to embark on a brand new chapter in their lives. After ten years of hard work, today marks the start of a new journey, and we sincerely wish the new students of class 2023 success and great achievements in their new endeavors.
