Xiangjiang Laboratory and H3C Hold Exchange Symposium to Jointly Create Highland for Technological Innovation

On the morning of September 14, Xiangjiang Laboratory and H3C held an exchange symposium in the Zhiyuan Lecture Hall of Xiangjiang Building. Attendees included Chen Xiaohong, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, and Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee, Yu Yingtao, Chairman of Unisplendour Corporation Limited and President and CEO of H3C, Liu Xinmin, Vice President of H3C and President of the Technology Strategy Department, Chen Ping, Vice President of H3C and Chief Information Officer, Zhou Mingyi, Vice President of H3C and Deputy Director of the President's Office, Liu Guoquan and Yi Mianyang, Deputy Directors of Xiangjiang Laboratory and Vice Presidents of HUTB, and Chen Peng, Chairman of Ziguang Huizhi Information Technology Co., Ltd., Liu Youhong, General Manager of the Hunan Representative Office of H3C, and Ren Guoli, General Manager of the Industry-University-Research Business Department of H3C. Heads of relevant departments from both sides participated in the meeting.
Academician Chen Xiaohong delivered a welcome speech at the meeting, warmly welcoming Chairman Yu Yingtao and his delegation. She expressed her appreciation for the progress and achievements in the previous cooperation between H3C and Xiangjiang Laboratory. She emphasized that Xiangjiang Laboratory is a key initiative for Hunan to build national strategic scientific and technological capabilities in advanced computing and artificial intelligence. It is committed to benchmarking national laboratories and serving the development of key regional industries, achieving significant phased results, and receiving high recognition from provincial leaders. She hoped that both parties would strengthen the foundation of cooperation, integrate resources, leverage their strengths, achieve practical results in the integration of "industry, university, research, and application," make breakthroughs in key core technologies, and explore new application scenarios to realize win-win cooperation and create a demonstration model. This would contribute to Chansha's efforts to build a global R&D center city by providing greater support.
Chairman Yu Yingtao expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the warm reception from Academician Chen Xiaohong and Xiangjiang Laboratory. He pointed out that Xiangjiang Laboratory and H3C, through the Joint Innovation Research Institute, have carried out various research work and project collaborations focused on national major strategic needs. He hopes to assist Xiangjiang Laboratory in constructing large-scale scientific facilities and facilitating industrial transformation. He also shared the latest industry achievements and advanced experiences, and introduced several large-scale model application cases across various industry sectors by H3C. He stated that H3C is willing to strengthen cooperation with Xiangjiang Laboratory, explore together, expand application areas, establish enabling platforms, and vigorously promote the in-depth integration of the upstream and downstream of industry, university, research, and application.
In early 2022, H3C and Xiangjiang Laboratory formally signed a strategic cooperation agreement and established an innovation center at H3C. Since then, both parties have been focusing on research and development of computing and network integration technologies. They have successfully completed several research collaborations, including "Key Technologies for Computing and Network Integration," "Intelligent Computing Acceleration for Ultra-Large-Scale Computing Networks," and "AI Systems Based on Computing and Network Resource Scheduling." During the exchange, representatives from both sides reported on the progress and achievements of their previous collaborations. They engaged in in-depth discussions on topics related to the AIGC cooperation model and the construction of the Joint Innovation Research Institute. This discussion helped to further clarify the direction of their cooperation, reach a consensus, and make arrangements for the next steps of their work.
Before the meeting, Chairman Yu Yingtao and his delegation were briefed on the construction of the various laboratory platforms within Xiangjiang Laboratory. They also visited several educational and recreational facilities at HUTB, including Chufeng Academy, Qiushi Academy, the Sports Center, and Creativity Gallery.
