Society of Management Science and Engineering of China Hold "Data Intelligence and Smart Society" Forum at HUTB

On the afternoon of September 24, the "Data Intelligence and Smart Society" forum organized by the Society of Management Science and Engineering of China was successfully held at Xiangjiang Building of HUTB. The forum was attended and addressed by Professor Gao Ziyou, Chairman of the Society of Management Science and Engineering of China and a professor at the School of Systems Science at Beijing Jiaotong University, as well as Professor Chen Xiaohong, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee, and Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory.

Over 600 experts and scholars from various universities, including the University of Hong Kong, Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University, Zhejiang University, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, National University of Defense Technology, Central South University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Nankai University, Tianjin University, Northeastern University, Beihang University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Hefei University of Technology, Capital University of Economics and Business, and HUTB, participated in the forum to collectively discuss the future of the smart society.

Academician Chen Xiaohong stated that the concept of a smart society is rich in content and covers a wide range of areas, including social economy, daily life, and social governance. She hopes that by combining top-level design, they can address bottleneck issues in fields such as public health, smart healthcare, smart resource management, intelligent manufacturing, and smart transportation. Their goal is to achieve theoretical innovation, practical application, and the cultivation of high-level talents. This expansion demonstrates the Society of Management Science and Engineering China's commitment to extending its influence, fostering contributions, and enhancing practical applications through the intersection and integration with data intelligence. She hopes that all the experts and scholars will actively engage in discussions, conduct thorough research, exchange ideas, and inspire one another to make a greater contribution to the field of data intelligence and smart society.

Chairman Gao Ziyuan expressed that the current convergence of new technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence across various industries is becoming a significant development direction. To fully leverage the leading role of the Society of Management Science and Engineering of China, and with the strong support of numerous scholars, they have established the Data Intelligence and Smart Society Division. This endeavor holds great theoretical significance and practical value in advancing interdisciplinary integration. He looks forward to the joint efforts of the Society of Management Science and Engineering of China and the Data Intelligence and Smart Society Division, aiming to continuously reach new heights, achieve new milestones, and scale new peaks.

The keynote presentation of the Data Intelligence and Smart Society Forum featured two phases, with the first phase being chaired by Professor Tan Yuejin from the National University of Defense Technology. Professor Tan Yuejin introduced the basic information about the Society of Management Science and Engineering of China and the Data Intelligence and Smart Society Division.

Professor Shen Zuojun, Vice President of the University of Hong Kong, delivered a keynote presentation titled "Application of Data-Driven Decision Analysis in Operations Management." He shared research outcomes such as "Application of Deep Learning Intelligent Decision-Making in Inventory Management," "Application of Machine Learning Intelligent Optimization in Last-Mile Delivery," and "Implications of Data-Driven Decision Analysis in Operations Management." These findings provide artificial intelligence solutions for real-world business challenges.

Professor Bai Changhong, Dean of the Business School at Nankai University, delivered a keynote presentation titled "Return to Creation: Research on Happy Enterprises and Happy Urban-Rural Areas." He elaborated on this topic from three perspectives: "Happiness: The Proposition of Our Times and the Challenges of Practice," "Happiness-Oriented Enterprises Based on Creativity," and "Happiness-Oriented Destinations Based on Creativity." His presentation delved into the profound impact of modern information technology, artificial intelligence, and other factors on the development of the happiness industry, as well as the research on the paths and strategies to achieve happiness-oriented industrial development.

Professor Huang Lihua from Fudan University delivered an online keynote presentation titled "Examining Data Element Characteristics and Related Issues from a Circulation Perspective." She discussed three key aspects: "New Features of Data Elements," "Why Data Transactions Are Challenging Transactions," and "Related Issues in the Construction of Data Element Circulation Markets." She emphasized that data, as a production element, needs the development of element markets to facilitate data transactions.

Professor Liu Zhong from the National University of Defense Technology gave a keynote presentation titled "Reflections and Explorations of Intelligent Planning and Management Decision-Making in Large-Scale Complex Scenarios." He discussed three main aspects: "The Development of Artificial Intelligence," "The Development of Intelligent Planning and Games," and "Exploration and Practice in Large-Scale Complex Scenarios." He emphasized the need to integrate two categories of methods, knowledge-driven and data-driven, to establish an intelligent extracranial system for management task decision-making with learning and interpretability capabilities.

The second stage of the keynote presentations was moderated by Professor Zhang Ziqiong from Harbin Institute of Technology.

Professor Xiong Xiong, Vice Dean of the College of Economics and Management at Tianjin University, delivered a keynote presentation titled "Analysis of the Characteristics of China's Financial System." He provided a comprehensive overview of his research project, "Experimental Modeling Research on the Complex Correlation of China's 'Real Economy-Financial System'," focusing on research objectives, content, key scientific questions, technical routes, innovations, and research progress. His work offers robust theoretical support for the healthy development of China's capital markets.

Professor Jiang Zhongzhong, Dean of the School of Business Administration at Northeastern University, presented a keynote report titled "Content Sharing When Customers Can Multihome." He specifically addressed the research question related to "Multihoming Consumers" and, from a management perspective, delved into the complex relationships among the digital economy, platform economy, and content economy through modeling. His presentation provided valuable insights and conclusions in this domain.

Professor Hu Chunhua, Dean of the School of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Computing at HUTB, delivered a keynote presentation titled "Smart Society: Digital Intelligence Governance Technology and Innovative Applications." He elaborated on three key aspects: "The Background and Opportunities/Challenges in Building a Smart Society," "Research and Innovation in Digital Intelligence Governance for Smart Societies," and "Practical Applications of Digital Intelligence Governance in Smart Societies." Professor Hu emphasized the importance of seizing the opportunities presented by next-generation information technology to construct a modernized governance system for smart societies.
