Delegation of Hunan-based Deputies to the NPC Visits Xiangjiang Laboratory

On the morning of October 31, a delegation of Hunan-based deputies to the NPC visited the Xiangjiang Laboratory to conduct a special investigation under the theme of "building a high-level scientific and technological innovation platform and promoting innovative-driven development". The delegation was led by Wu Lan, Secretary of the Leading CPC Group and Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress, and Zhang Jianfei, Deputy Secretary of the Leading CPC Group and Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress, and consists of some Hunan-based deputies to the NPC. Chen Xiaohong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, and Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee, accompanied the delegation during their visit.
The deputies to the 14th National People's Congress, including Liu Lianyu, Yang Weigang, Wang Xu, Shi Jia, Cheng Xinxiang, Liu Zhengmao, Jiang Fan, Li Xiaosong, Yang Tao, Shan Xiaoming, Nie Pengju, Yin Cuiping, Huang Shuibo, Gong Zhengwen, as well as officials from provincial departments, Changsha City, Xiangjiang New Area, HUTB, Xiangjiang Laboratory, and other relevant units participated in the investigation.
The delegation visited the exhibition hall of scientific research achievements at Xiangjiang Laboratory, watched the advertising video of Xiangjiang Laboratory, and listened to relevant reports. Academician Chen Xiaohong introduced that since its establishment over a year ago, Xiangjiang Laboratory has been committed to building a national strategic scientific and technological force in the fields of advanced computing and artificial intelligence. It continuously gathers high-level scientific and technological innovation resources, promotes the integrated development of "computing power, algorithm, computing basis and computing network", and focuses on the continuous production of innovative achievements related to cutting-edge theories and key technologies. Through simultaneous research, application, and transformation, Xiangjiang Laboratory contributes its strength to the realization of Hunan's vision of "Three Highlands, Four New Missions".
The delegation also gained in-depth knowledge about the progress of the research teams at Xiangjiang Laboratory in various fields, including computing chips and advanced computing, AI large models, new-generation artificial intelligence, intelligent manufacturing, smart energy resources and environment, dual-carbon data analysis, smart social governance, intelligent medical care and computational biology, data security and blockchain, smart cities, intelligent logistics, metaverse and smart retail, as well as computing network brain. They learned about the research positioning, team structure, key issues and difficulties solved, achievements transformation and application, representative results, policy recommendations, and other aspects of each research team. Everyone highly praised the construction progress and effectiveness of Xiangjiang Laboratory and hoped that it would continuously strengthen the integrated development of "computing power, algorithm, computing basis and computing network" and the transformation and application of achievements, better serve the high-quality economic and social development of Hunan, and make new and greater contributions to realizing the beautiful blueprint of "Three Highlands, Four New Missions" and achieving high-level self-reliance and self-improvement in science and technology.
