Zhang Jian, Vice Chairman of the Hunan Provincial Committee of CPPCC, leads Delegation to Conduct Research Visit to Xiangjiang Laboratory

In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 12th Provincial CPC Committee and comprehensively promote the overall requirements for the performance of duties outlined in the "1453" initiative of the Hunan Provincial Committee of CPPCC, on the morning of November 2, Zhang Jian, Vice Chairman of the Hunan Provincial Committee of CPPCC and Chairman of Hunan Federation of Industry and Commerce, led a delegation to conduct a research visit to the Xiangjiang Laboratory.
Fan Bo, a member of the Hunan Provincial Committee of CPPCC and Resident Deputy Director of the Economic and Technological Committee of Hunan Provincial Committee of CPPCC, Zhu Wan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial Committee of CPPCC, Deputy Director of the Economic and Technological Committee of Hunan Provincial Committee of CPPCC, and Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Hunan Province, Peng Jiqiu, a member of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial Committee of CPPCC and Deputy Director of the Economic and Technological Committee of Hunan Provincial Committee of CPPCC, Yang Aiyun, a member of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial Committee of CPPCC and President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Hunan Sub-council, Chen Jianwen, a member of the Hunan Provincial Committee of CPPCC and Vice Chairman of the Changsha Municipal Committee of CPPCC, along with relevant officials from HUTB and Xiangjiang Laboratory accompanied the research visit.
The research delegation visited the exhibition hall of scientific research achievements at Xiangjiang Laboratory, watched the advertising video of Xiangjiang Laboratory, and listened to a report on the construction of the laboratory. Liu Guoquan, Executive Deputy Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory and Vice President of HUTB, introduced that since its establishment over a year ago, the Xiangjiang Laboratory has been committed to building advanced strategic scientific and technological capabilities in the fields of advanced computing and artificial intelligence. It has made efforts to overcome key core technologies and "bottleneck" challenges, and has achieved a number of original and leading achievements.
The research delegation also gained further understanding of the progress of various research teams at the Xiangjiang Laboratory, including research on computing chips and advanced computing, AI large models, new generation artificial intelligence, intelligent manufacturing, intelligent energy resources and environment, dual-carbon data analysis, smart social governance, intelligent healthcare and computational biology, data security and blockchain, smart cities, intelligent logistics, metaverse and intelligent retail, and computing network brain. They learned about the research positioning, team building, key problems and challenges addressed, achievements transformation and application demonstrations, representative results, policy suggestions, and other aspects of each research team. Everyone highly praised the construction achievements of the Xiangjiang Laboratory and hoped that the laboratory would continue to focus on advanced computing and artificial intelligence, continuously strengthen the transformation and application of scientific research achievements, and help promote the construction of Changsha as a global research and development center and the "4 + 4 Science and Technology Innovation Project", contributing greater strength to realizing the beautiful blueprint of "Three Highlands, Four New Missions".
