HUTB Held 2023 "Excellence and Diligence" HUTB Student Academician Award Fund Award Ceremony

On the afternoon of November 28, the university held the 2023 "Excellence and Diligence" HUTB Student Academician Award Fund Award Ceremony at the Xiangjiang Lecture Hall. Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), Liu Guoquan and Gan Dejian, members of CPC HUTB Committee and Vice Presidents of HUTB, attended the ceremony. Heads of relevant functional departments, all secondary schools, faculty and student representatives, as well as students who received the academician award fund, attended the event.
The award ceremony kicked off with a performance of "Dandelion" by the Changfeng Chorus. The beautiful singing showcased the power of youth and vitality, symbolizing the pursuit of dreams and continuous progress by young students.
The faculty and students present together watched the video about the academician award fund, which depicted heartwarming scenes and conveyed sincere words of gratitude towards Academician Chen Xiaohong and the nurturing from the university.
Academician Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee, presented certificates to 30 students who received the academician award fund this year and warmly congratulated them on their achievements. She expressed that the award-winning students are impressive and outstanding. It is thanks to having such a large number of excellent HUTB students that our work becomes energetic, and we have hope for the future. She said that she is proud of everyone's growth and excellence!
Secretary Chen Xiaohong put forward three expectations for the young students of our university: first, to embrace ideal and belief, to strive to serve the country and the people, and to continuously strengthen their patriotism, firm determination to serve the country, and to practice the Chinese dream of strengthening the nation. Second, to be diligent in learning and practice, to improve one's skills and abilities, to button up the first button of life, and to write even more magnificent chapters of youth. Third, to unleash thinking and imagination, to be innovative and take on responsibilities, and to strive to become participants in building a strong technological nation, creators of cultural prosperity, and practitioners of social civilization progress.
The representative of the award-winning students delivered a speech, sincerely expressing their reverence and gratitude towards Academician Chen Xiaohong. Subsequently, the representative of the award-winning students, filled with gratitude, presented Academician Chen Xiaohong with a carefully crafted gratitude and blessing photo album.
The attending chief leaders took the stage to water the "Tree of Growth", and the words "Excellence, Inspiration, Practice" gradually rose, showcasing the core concept of talent cultivation at our university. Finally, the award ceremony came to a successful conclusion with the whole faculty and students singing the "Song of Hunan University of Technology and Business" in unison.
It is reported that the "Excellence and Diligence" HUTB Student Academician Award Fund has continuously sponsored outstanding students for four sessions, aiming to inspire young students of our university to stick to their principles, pursue innovation and dreams, enjoy freedom and chase the wind, study hard, work hard, and serve the motherland. This year, after registration and preliminary review by each secondary school, and university review, a total of 30 award-winning students were selected from the applicants, including 11 recipients of the Excellence Award, 9 recipients of the Inspiration Award, and 10 recipients of the Practice Award.
