HUTB Receives Several Outstanding Honors in National “Sanxiaxiang Program” Social Practice Activities in 2023

Recently, the commendation ceremony was held for outstanding teams, individuals, and projects in the 2023 national summer cultural, technological, and health “Sanxiaxiang Program” social practice activities for volunteer college and vocational school students conducted jointly by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, Central Guidance Committee Office of Spiritual Civilization Construction, Ministry of Education, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, and the All-China Students’ Federation. Our university was awarded as an “Outstanding Unit” in the 2023 national summer “Sanxiaxiang Program” social practice activities for volunteer college and vocational school students. The “Multifaceted Support for Rural Revitalization in Zuolongxia Village and Kebuche Village, Guzhang County, Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture” social practice team received the award for “Outstanding Team,” and Yang Jia was recognized as an “Outstanding Individual” in social practice. The university also won the title of “Outstanding Organizational Unit” in the “Sanxiaxiang Program Through the Lens” collection activity. The number and categories of awards rank among the top universities in the province.
In recent years, CPC HUTB Committee has attached great importance to the summer “Sanxiaxiang Program” social practice activities and considers it an important task for cultivating talents for the Party and the country. Academician Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee, has attended the launching ceremony of “Sanxiaxiang Program” for three consecutive years, encouraging students to actively participate in social practice activities with a healthy physique, enthusiastic spirit, and excellent state. During this summer vacation, our university conducted the “Sanxiaxiang Program” social practice activities under the theme of “Studying the Spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, Always Following the Party, and Advancing on a New Journey.” The activities were carried out in five aspects: theoretical popularization and lectures, learning about the Party’s history, promoting rural revitalization, observing development achievements, and engaging in ethnic unity practices. A total of more than 300 project applications were received for the activities. After evaluation by the university’s expert review committee, 50 projects were approved at the university level, and 144 projects were approved at the school level.
Over 3,500 university students focused on the theme, utilized their professional expertise, and conducted in-depth social practice activities in rural areas. A total of 378 news reports were published on national media platforms such as Youth.cn, People’s Daily, and txs.youth.cn. Additionally, 405 news reports were published on provincial media platforms such as Hunan Today and Rednet.cn. Hunan Daily reported on a full page about our university student team’s social practice activities in Yongzhou, which had a positive social impact and achieved good results in cultivating students.
Next, the HUTB Youth League Committee will continue to be guided by ’Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. They will rely on the university’s characteristic disciplines and majors to encourage and motivate more students to broaden their horizons, gain knowledge, and develop skills in the classroom of rural revitalization. They will continue to promote the transformation of practical achievements, continuously improve the ability and level of practical education, and lead the vast number of young students to shoulder the responsibility of national construction and rejuvenation.
