On the afternoon of January 9, the product launch event and industrial alliance establishment conference of Xiangjiang Laboratory were held at Xiangjiang Lecture Hall of HUTB.

Chen Xiaohong, CAE Academician, Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, and Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee; Liu Zhongmin, Foreign Academician of the Russian Academy of Engineering and Deputy Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory; He Zhaohui, Vice Secretary of the CPC Working Committee of and Director of the Management Committee of the Hunan Xiangjiang New Area; Tong Laisheng, Member of the Leading CPC Group of and Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Hunan Province; Liu Guoquan, Executive Deputy Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory and Vice President of HUTB; Kou Gang, Deputy Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory; Yi Mianyang, Deputy Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory and Vice President of HUTB; Hu Chunhua, Deputy Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, attended the event. Leaders from 35 top companies including Huawei, JD.com, Baidu, and H3C, as well as relevant departments of Xiangjiang Laboratory, also participated in the event.

At the opening ceremony, Academician Chen Xiaohong delivered a speech. She expressed that over the past year, under the correct leadership of the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and the People’s Government of Hunan Province, with strong support from the Department of Science and Technology of Hunan Province and Xiangjiang New Area, and in close cooperation with co-construction units, Xiangjiang Laboratory has accelerated its development: the talent team continues to grow, theoretical research has been fruitful, policy recommendations have yielded results, exchanges and cooperation have deepened, operationalization has progressed comprehensively, infrastructure construction has been upgraded, all 26 major projects have made comprehensive progress, and a number of significant innovative achievements have been made.

Academician Chen Xiaohong pointed out that the seven original products in cutting-edge fields such as multimodal AI LLMs, industrial operating systems, Metaverse, intelligent robots, and Beidou navigation released at this launch meeting are the collective wisdom of technological research jointly conducted by Xiangjiang Laboratory and its co-construction units. These products represent the annual achievements of the laboratory in achieving high-level self-reliance and self-improvement in science and technology. Xiangjiang Laboratory, together with a group of collaborative enterprises, has jointly established 5 research institutes and 1 engineering technology research center. This is an important opportunity to expand the scope of cooperation and promote common development, building upon the foundation of the existing 8 research institutes. It is also a significant step for both parties to achieve steady and long-term progress through mutual benefit, win-win cooperation, and resonance. Xiangjiang Laboratory and the 35 leading companies have formed the "Integration of Computing Power, Algorithm, Computing Basis and Computing Network Centers" Industrial Alliance, aiming to propel the digital intelligence industry to a new level and facilitate in-depth integration of industry, academia, research, and application, serving the high-quality development of the economy and society.

Director He Zhaohui delivered a speech at the meeting. He stated that with the support of major scientific and technological innovation platforms represented by Xiangjiang Laboratory, various indicators of Xiangjiang New Area are among the best in national-level new areas. Xiangjiang New Area will adhere to the concept of "providing the best locations for scientific and technological innovation institutions, offering the best scenery for scientific and technological innovation personnel, and providing the best services for scientific and technological innovation enterprises". Xiangjiang New Area will fully support the research and development of products in Xiangjiang Laboratory and the transformation of achievements. Xiangjiang New Area will strive to facilitate the transition of more products from the laboratory to the production line. Xiangjiang New Area will work together with academicians, experts, and members of the Industrial Alliance to create a technology innovation highland with core competitiveness in Hunan and provide strong impetus for Changsha to become a global research and development center city.

Deputy Director Tong Laisheng delivered a speech at the meeting. He stated that the conference showcased a series of scientific research achievements, which will propel Xiangjiang Laboratory to new heights in terms of technological innovation and achievement transformation. In the new year, it is hoped that Xiangjiang Laboratory will focus on the construction plan and target tasks, clarify the annual work priorities, set high standards, promote systematically, increase output, accelerate the development of a high-energy-level scientific and technological innovation platform focused on talent, technology, and industry, accelerate the enhancement of core competitiveness and innovation aggregation effects, accelerate the transformation of high-quality scientific and technological achievements into new quality productive forces, transform innovative advantages into developmental advantages, and comprehensively empower the high-quality development of industries.

During the product release session, Xiangjiang Laboratory unveiled a total of 7 representative innovative products, including the Xuan Yuan Smart Transportation LLM and domestically developed embedded operating system performance optimization components.

At the event venue, a plaque unveiling ceremony was held for the jointly established research institutes and engineering technology research center of Xiangjiang Laboratory. The following four innovation research institutes and one engineering technology research center were granted plaques: the Underground Engineering High-End Equipment Digital Intelligence Innovation Research Institute with China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Corporation Limited, the Autonomous Advanced Computing Application Technology Innovation Research Institute with Phytium, the Digital Content Artificial Intelligence Innovation Research Institute with Unicom Online Information Technology Co., Ltd., the Smart Environment Innovation Research Institute with Aerospace Kaitian Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., and the Remote Sensing Data and Application Innovation Research Institute with Spacety, and the Intelligent Welding Equipment Engineering Technology Research Center with Tianyi Welding & Cutting.

Subsequently, under the joint witness of Academician Chen Xiaohong, Director He Zhaohui, Deputy Director Tong Laisheng, and other leaders and guests, Xiangjiang Laboratory, together with 35 leading enterprises, established the "Integration of Computing Power, Algorithm, Computing Basis, and Computing Network Centers" Industrial Alliance. The alliance aims to continuously integrate outstanding scientific and technological forces and innovative resources from within the province and aggregate them domestically and internationally. It will jointly build a platform for information exchange, resource sharing, and cooperative interaction, fostering a favorable ecosystem for the development of the digital economy.

After the meeting, the participants visited the Xiangjiang Laboratory's research achievements exhibition hall, the Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Creation Park, Xiangjiang Academy, and other venues to further understand the progress of various research teams' work. They highly praised the construction achievements of Xiangjiang Laboratory and expressed full confidence in its future development.
