A Group of Technology and Information Experts from Public Security Department of Hunan Province Visits Xiangjiang Laboratory

On January 10, a delegation led by Che Lihua, a member of the CPC Committee and Deputy Director of the Public Security Department of Hunan Province, conducted a research visit to Xiangjiang Laboratory. Chen Xiaohong, CAE Academician, Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, and Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee, met with Deputy Director Che Lihua and his delegation.
Also present at the meeting were Liu Guoquan, Executive Deputy Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, a member of CPC HUTB Committee and Vice President of HUTB; Gan Dejian, a member of CPC HUTB Committee and Vice President of HUTB; and Liu Xuchong, a member of the CPC Committee and Vice President of Hunan Police Academy, who accompanied the research visit. Both parties held a discussion and exchange meeting at the Lingchuang Lecture Hall of Xiangjiang Building. Leaders from relevant departments of the Public Security Department of Hunan Province, Xiangjiang Laboratory, and HUTB, attended the meeting.
Academician Chen Xiaohong extended a warm welcome to Deputy Director Che Lihua and his delegation, expressing sincere gratitude for the long-term care and support from the Public Security Department of Hunan Province. She also conveyed holiday greetings and blessings for the "Chinese People's Police Day". She pointed out that as the first laboratory unveiled among the "Four major laboratories" in Hunan Province, Xiangjiang Laboratory focuses on the field of advanced computing and artificial intelligence. It adheres to integrated advancement in "computing power, algorithm, computing basis, and computing network", conducting research in six major application areas including scientific supervision and social governance, intelligent manufacturing, and smart transportation. By gathering high-quality resources and top-level talents, organizing scientific research activities, and promoting the deep integration of the digital economy and the real economy, Xiangjiang Laboratory is striving to build national strategic technological capabilities. She expressed her hope for deep collaboration between both parties, leveraging their respective strengths to generate original achievements and facilitate their practical applications. This, in turn, would contribute the wisdom and strength of Xiangjiang Laboratory to promote the development of "technology-driven police" and "smart public security" initiatives.
Deputy Director Che Lihua expressed gratitude for the warm reception at Xiangjiang Laboratory. He pointed out that technology is the primary productive force, emphasizing that by valuing and seizing technological innovation, advantages can be gained, transformations can be propelled, and innovative developments can be achieved. The Public Security Department of Hunan Province has established and operated the provincial public security science and technology research institute and the expert consultation committee, jointly formulating the Three-Year Action Plan for the Promotion of Science and Technology in Hunan Police with the Department of Science and Technology of Hunan Province. The aim is to vigorously promote intelligent office systems and mobile police applications, and to promote the mobile, lightweight, and integrated application of informatization in public security. Drawing on his own practical experience, he shared his insights and practices in areas such as mechanism innovation, technology empowerment, and social governance. He expressed that the research direction of Xiangjiang Laboratory aligns closely with the development needs of technological informatization in public security agencies. Both parties should actively establish communication channels, explore cooperation models, and provide robust technological support for the construction of a safer Hunan at a higher level.
At the meeting, the attendees watched the advertising video of the Xiangjiang Laboratory and engaged in in-depth discussions around technological informatization construction, big data collection and utilization, data security and network security, technological anti-drug efforts and intelligent anti-drug initiatives, as well as public security prevention and control and modern governance, in conjunction with their work reality.
After the meeting, Deputy Director Che Lihua and his delegation visited the research achievements exhibition hall and the Intelligent Logistics Laboratory of Xiangjiang Laboratory. They toured the seven original products in cutting-edge areas such as multimodal AI LLMs, data security and blockchain, and Beidou navigation recently released by Xiangjiang Laboratory. They also listened to presentations on the progress of research teams in computing chips and advanced computing, new generation artificial intelligence, smart social governance, etc. Deputy Director Che Lihua highly praised the achievements of Xiangjiang Laboratory in its development.
