Hunan Consultation Association Holds A Seminar on Consulting Ethics Theory at HUTB

On the morning of January 12, a seminar on consulting ethics theory, organized by the Hunan Consultation Association, hosted by HUTB, and co-organized by the Hunan Peace Culture Research Association, was held. Before the meeting, Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee, Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, and CAE Academician, met with Chen Song, a member of the Leading CPC Group of and Vice President of the Hunan Association for Science and Technology, as well as Li Aidong, President of the Hunan Consultation Association and Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee, Vice Chairman, and General Manager of Hunan Xiangtou Holding Group Co.,Ltd., who attended the conference at the university. Yang Liangqi, a member of CPC HUTB Committee and Vice President of HUTB, accompanied the meeting.

Chen Xiaohong, Secretary of CPC HUTB Committee, Director of Xiangjiang Laboratory, and CAE Academician, welcomed Vice Chairman Chen Song, President Li Aidong, and all the experts and scholars. She introduced Xiangjiang Laboratory as an important part of Hunan Province's "4+4 Science and Technology Innovation Project" and the first laboratory to be unveiled among the "Four major laboratories" in Hunan Province. The laboratory has pioneered the construction concept of "Integration of Computing Power, Algorithm, Computing Basis and Computing Network" and is committed to building national strategic scientific and technological capabilities in advanced computing and artificial intelligence. Since its establishment over a year ago, Xiangjiang Laboratory has gathered more than 40 academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, over 60 Changjiang Scholars and National Distinguished Young Scholars, forming a high-level R&D team of more than 520 people. They are fully committed to contributing the "Xiangjiang" strength to support the implementation of the "Empowering Ten Thousand Enterprises with Intelligence" initiative in Hunan and realizing the bright blueprint of "Three Highlands, Four New Missions". She also expressed the hope that the Hunan Consultation Association can provide valuable opinions and suggestions for the construction and development of both HUTB and Xiangjiang Laboratory, and wished the seminar on consulting ethics theory great success.

The seminar was held at the Conference Room 401 in No.2 Office Building. Chen Song, a member of the Leading CPC Group of and Vice President of the Hunan Association for Science and Technology, Li Aidong, President of the Hunan Consultation Association and Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee, Vice Chairman, and General Manager of Hunan Xiangtou Holding Group Co.,Ltd., as well as Yang Liangqi, a member of CPC HUTB Committee and Vice President of HUTB, and other leaders attended the meeting. Experts and scholars attending the conference at the university, as well as experts, scholars, and graduate student representatives from our university were also present. The meeting was chaired by Li Zili, Vice President and Secretary-General of the Hunan Consultation Association.

The meeting began with a viewing of the promotional video of the Hunan Consultation Association. President Li Aidong delivered a speech on behalf of the association, expressing sincere gratitude to Academician Chen Xiaohong for her strong support and to HUTB for actively hosting the event. He also extended heartfelt thanks to all the leaders, experts, and scholars for their active participation. He pointed out that this conference, in accordance with the requirements of the era of ethical governance, focuses on deepening the theoretical research on consulting ethics based on the characteristics of the consulting industry and the actual situation in Hunan Province. The aim is to effectively prevent and control ethical risks in consulting, strengthen self-discipline in the consulting industry, and promote the construction of an ethical framework for consulting. He expressed the hope that the experts and scholars present will actively share their insightful views and explore new paths for the theoretical research on consulting ethics together.
During the keynote presentation session, Professor Yang Liangqi delivered a speech titled "Business Ethical Issues and Governance in the Digital Economy Era - On Modern Consulting Ethical Standards." He elaborated on the impact characteristics of digital technology and the development of the digital economy on the business field, the transformation of future business brought by the wave of the digital economy, the business ethical challenges faced by business transformation, and the ethical standards and governance strategies that modern consulting industry should grasp in response to these challenges. Liu Gao, Director of the Supervision and Integrity Department of the Department of Science and Technology of Hunan Province gave a presentation titled "Exploration and Practice of Science and Technology Ethics Governance in Hunan Province." His report focused on topics such as the leadership of the provincial science and technology ethics governance committee, the guidance from national and provincial pilot tasks, the establishment of regional science and technology ethics review centers, the construction of a talent team in science and technology ethics, and the fundamental promotion of the healthy development of science and technology ethics and industry.

During the guest speech session, Yin Xiangdong, a Counsellor of the People’s Government of Hunan Province and a researcher at the Hunan Academy of Social Sciences, spoke on ethical issues in the consulting industry. Professor Chen Wanqiu, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the School of Marxism Studies at Changsha University of Science & Technology, spoke on agile governance issues in artificial intelligence. Professor Chen Jianmao, former President of the Hunan College of Information, gave a speech on educational consulting issues. Xiao Haijun, Vice President of Hunan Civil and Commercial Law Research Association and a professor at Hunan University, spoke on legal consulting issues. Professor Liao Jialin from Xiangtan University addressed the issue of ethics taking precedence. Professor Kang Qiong, Vice President of the Hunan Peace Culture Research Association and a professor at HUTB, spoke on traditional healthcare ethics issues. Zhong Lumiao, Director and Chief Pharmacist from the Monitoring Department I of the Hunan Drug Evaluation and Adverse Reaction Monitoring Center spoke on ethical issues facing consulting institutions in pharmaceutical and medical research. Experts and scholars at the conference conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges around the theme of the conference, combining it with the practical work of consulting.
Vice Chairman Chen Song pointed out in his concluding speech that the active sharing of research findings by experts and scholars at the conference has solidified the foundation for making new progress and achievements in the theoretical research of consulting ethics. He expressed his expectations and requirements for further improving consulting work: First, adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, thoroughly implement the "six must-adheres" for theoretical innovation; Second, uphold a high position, a systematic concept, and thinking from an overall perspective; Third, adhere to the governance principles of "people-oriented, system perfection, gradual progress, flexibility, and efficiency." He also shared his thoughts on promoting theoretical research on consulting ethics, hoping that experts and scholars at the conference can address new situations and issues to achieve better results in advancing the theoretical research on consulting ethics.

Before the conference, participating leaders, experts, and scholars visited the Xiangjiang Laboratory’s research achievements exhibition hall, watched the advertising video of the Xiangjiang Laboratory, and learned about the seven original products recently released to the public, including the Xuan Yuan Smart Transportation LLM, the Multi-source Heterogeneous Algorithm Data Security Sharing Platform, and the Metaverse Digital Creative Product Matrix. They also received updates on the progress of various research teams at the laboratory and highly praised the achievements in construction, development, scientific innovation, and technological advancements made by the Xiangjiang Laboratory.
